The WB brawler MultiVersus has already experienced a ton of success starting with its open beta this summer. Featuring the likes of iconic characters like Batman, Bugs Bunny, and Shaggy, this free to play title has already surpassed numerous milestones including breaking the 20 million players mark. Season 1 also recently kicked off, bringing new characters like Morty into the game, alongside new updates, features, and a battle pass to earn cosmetic items from.

However, while players continue to enjoy the moment to moment gameplay, MultiVersus remains a work in progress. Player First Games provided fans a roadmap of content at EVO 2022, much of which is still not in the game as of yet. New characters like Black Adam, Stripe, and Rick are planned for later this season, as well as new game modes like a dedicated PvE Arcade Mode and Online Ranked. Even the game's menu appears incomplete as a few options remain inaccessible.

On Twitter, Joe Vargas of AngryJoeShow fame, posed a question to MultiVersus director Tony Huynh regarding the missing content. Noting that the game has been out for a few weeks now, Vargas was wondering what the plans were to open the final two menu items, the in-game store and Guilds. In response to the question, Huynh admitted that the team continues to work on these two elements, though they're not close to launching.

The major reason for the delay is that the team's focus has shifted to ensure core systems, the game's stability, and bug fixes are prioritized to ensure a smooth gameplay experience for fans. Huynh goes on to confirm that the patch coming next week will be the biggest one the team has released so far for MultiVersus. While Huynh doesn't go into too many details, he does tease the content by confirming that the patch "adds a lot of cool things."

In addition to various feature updates and bug fixes, many fans are hoping to see an influx of new content into MultiVersus with the upcoming patch. The growing character roster has plenty of fan favorites, though many of them are not represented in their own stage, such as the Looney Tunes characters or even Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. Not only that, players are still anticipating the arrival of Rick, especially since players were able to gain access to the character even though he's not officially released yet.

MultiVersus is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
