MultiVersus has been a huge hit so far, with millions of people checking out the free-to-play crossover fighting game. The biggest draw of MultiVersus is its impressively varied roster of fighters, pitting the likes of DC Comics superheroes like Batman and Superman against Game of Thrones' Arya Stark and Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. The MultiVersus roster will grow over time, as the developers know new characters will be the main way to keep fans coming back.
As of right now, we know of at least four new characters that are coming to MultiVersus with 100% certainty, as they have already been announced for future updates. First up will be Morty Smith of Rick and Morty fame, who is scheduled to join the MultiVersus roster on August 23. Then at some point between now and when Season 1 ends on November 15, fans can also look forward to the addition of Morty's grandpa Rick Sanchez, Black Adam, and Stripe from Gremlins.
Morty, Rick, Black Adam, and Stripe are the only new characters confirmed for MultiVersus so far, but data mining efforts and leaks have given fans an idea of what to expect from future seasons. Two leaked MultiVersus characters in particular seem like they would be great additions for a potential Halloween event in October, though with four characters already confirmed for Season 1, fans shouldn't hold their breath.
Data miners have leaked evidence that MultiVersus will be adding the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz and Beetlejuice to the roster at some point down the line. It's possible these characters are lined up for the inevitable MultiVersus Season 2, but it's also possible that fans will have to wait quite a bit longer to play as them. And while unlikely, it's also possible that the Wicked Witch of the West and Beetlejuice will come to the game just in time for Halloween.
Developer Player First Games has not announced any special Halloween event plans, but it's typical for live service games like this to have holiday-themed events. Beetlejuice and the Wicked Witch of the West would be perfect new additions for such an event, for obvious reasons. The Wicked Witch of the West is well, a witch, while Beetlejuice is an undead demon-of-sorts that seeks to terrorize the living world. Both are spooky enough to be perfect new additions to the MultiVersus roster this Halloween, but again, fans shouldn't get their hopes up. While it certainly seems as though Beetlejuice and the Wicked Witch of the West are on their way, the more likely scenario is that they will be added much later on.
