Originally airing all the way back in 2008, Breaking Bad is widely regarded as one of, if not the best TV shows of all time. With Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul delivering some of the best acting performances of this generation, and a supporting cast doing exactly the same, Breaking Bad manages to balance its tone perfectly, constantly delivering strong feelings of tension, relief, and despair, all within accessible, digestible 50-minute chunks. Bryan Cranston's Walter White is a big reason behind the show's success, and though he may not be the obvious choice, fans are desperate for his inclusion in the Warner Bros. crossover fighter MultiVersus.

Released earlier this year, MultiVersus is a free-to-play fighting game that takes inspiration from Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series, only instead of Mario and Donkey Kong fighting, it's Batman and Shaggy. Since its release back in July, MultiVersus has already added several new characters to the roster via free DLC, including a Gremlin, LeBron James, and Rick and Morty. For some reason, fans of Breaking Bad are passionately campaigning for Walter White to be included on the roster, and it could just work.

MultiVersus Should Add Walter White

Walter White is not really a character that screams "fighting game contender." By the time the show starts, Walt has just turned 50, and throughout the show, he struggles with some pretty severe cancer. That being said, MultiVersus already has a few characters that don't seem as though they'd be down to fight, and they work pretty well in the game. After all, MultiVersus seems to be basing its roster on what's currently in the popular zeitgeist, and Breaking Bad is still somehow one of the most talked about shows today. Breaking Bad's popularity has only increased recently thanks to its spin-off show, Better Call Saul, having just wrapped up a few months ago.

Breaking Bad has also stayed in the public conscious thanks to some pretty absurd memes. Just recently, a meme of Walt and Jesse frantically driving on Mario Kart's Rainbow Road made the rounds online, and the pair are constantly used in a range of wonderfully bizarre Minecraft TikToks that fuse a moment from the show with some Minecraft surroundings. MultiVersus isn't afraid of leaning heavily into meme culture and fan-service, with Scooby-Doo's Shaggy being able to go Ultra Instinct Super Saiyan in the game, which was an extremely popular meme about a year ago. It may be a little odd at first, but Walter White could work in MultiVersus from a general design perspective.

From a gameplay perspective, Walter White may be a little trickier to design, though there are a few key moments from the show that could be used as inspiration. For instance, one of Walt's moves could involve throwing down a mercury fulminate crystal on the floor, causing explosive AoE damage to those around him. Walt could even call in the Crystal Ship R.V. to run over his opponents, similar to Velma's Mystery Machine move.

Unfortunately, though, it seems pretty unlikely that Walter White will come to MultiVersus in the future, purely due to legal limitations. While MultiVersus is owned by Warner Bros., Breaking Bad is owned by Sony Pictures. Though it isn't impossible, it seems pretty unlikely that Warner Bros. would shell out a hefty amount of cash just to use the Breaking Bad license for one character in its free-to-play fighting game.

MultiVersus is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
