While Multiversus has a pretty big and pretty diverse cast of fighters, nothing beats the classics. More iconic and less 'goofy' characters such as Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman are all in this game and are all pretty good on their own as fighters. Wonder Woman especially is a bit of an enigma as she's a tank-class character like Superman, but she has even more defensive options on top of her class and she also has a lot of combo potential.

Multiversus: 7 Ways It's Not Like Other Platform Fighters

Multiversus is a platform fighter, sure, but it's not exactly like all the other platform fighters. Here are all the ways it's especially unique.

A good Wonder Woman player will make it seem like she's more of an Assassin or a Bruiser than she is a Tank, and honestly, it's not all that hard to play her in this way yourself, provided you have the right Perks equipped and have put the proper amount of practice in. In fact, let's take a deep dive into Wonder Woman's Perk options overall and go over what exactly we feel is her absolute strongest setup in Multiversus.

Signature Perk

Grapple of Hermes

Multiversus - Grapple of Hermes Signature Perk

Name

Effect

Grapple of Hermes

Wonder Woman's lasso will grapple lightning out of the air and pull her to its location, but does less damage.

First up is a pick that'll probably surprise a lot of Wonder Woman players (sorry Nakat), but we think Grapple of Hermes is her best Signature Perk option. While Whip of Hephaestus is better for giving WW a ranged option and even potentially better for KO'ing opponents in general, the utility of Grapple of Hermes can't be beaten. Plus, Whip of Hephaestus requires you to be acutely aware of the maximum range of your whip and your enemy's positioning at all times, which makes it difficult for newer WW mains to use.

With Grapple of Hermes, you simply have more maneuverability that's tricky for the opponent to lock down. Wonder Woman isn't the slowest character in the game, but she's certainly not the fastest, so Grapple of Hermes allows her to quickly close the distance or get out of the way when needed. Lastly, Grapple of Hermes gives you another option for recover, which again makes it more difficult for opponents to guess your trajectory and spike you into the bottom of the stage's KO zone.

Team Perk

Protective Momentum

Multiversus - Forward Momentum Perk for Wonder Woman

Name

Effect

Protective Momentum

Your team gains a projectile shield after running on the ground in the same direction for at least 0.5 seconds. If your teammate also selects this Perk, the projectile shield activates faster.

Next up is one of the few Team Perks that can beat out Snowball Effect in certain situations, Protective Momentum. While Snowball Effect works well on WW just like it does on everyone else, Protective Momentum makes it easier for her to approach enemies who have a lot of annoying little projectiles such as Marvin the Martian, Rick, as well as Tom & Jerry. Wonder Woman already has a ton of defensive options considering she's a tank-class character, and Protective Momentum just rounds out her defensive playstyle and makes approaching on the ground a lot more reliable.

This is especially nice since Wonder Woman's Dash Attack is incredibly good, and a lot of her other on-the-ground attacks are pretty good as well. However if you feel you don't need this projectile shield or if you're up against an opponent who doesn't have any projectiles, having a backup Perk Loadout with Snowball Effect equipped instead is also very convenient.

Strong Perk

Last Stand

Multiversus - Wonder Woman Last Stand Perk

Name

Effect

Last Stand

While you have at least 100 damage, knocking back enemies applies Weakened.

Frankly, unless it's an assassin-class character, almost everyone in Multiversus is probably going to have Last Stand equipped. While the effect of the Perk itself isn't anything game-changing, it triggers pretty often per match. Unless you're getting combo'd right near the edge of the map, you have a high chance of surviving past 100 damage with just about every life, especially with Wonder Woman.

Plus, Wonder Woman has some pretty great approaching attacks she can use to surprise an opponent at high damage such as her aerial Side+Special, her aerial Side+Attack, her aerial Neutral+Attack, and even her whip with Grapple of Hermes equipped. So, with Last Stand, it becomes even more difficult for opponents to KO Wonder Woman which makes it more likely for them to slip up and much easier for Wonder Woman players to take advantage of said slip-ups.

Standard Perk

Pugilist

Multiversus - Wonder Woman Pugilist Perk

Name

Effect

Pugilist

Your melee attacks deal increased damage.

Yet another character where Pugilist is the best-in-slot option for their Standard Perk. Unless the character has a lot of ranged attacks, it really does feel like Pugilist is the go-to Perk in every scenario. While there are situations in which Armor Killer or Armor Crush have their uses, neither of them are as universally useful as Pugilist. Like with Snowball Effect, with this Perk equipped it basically just functions as a passive damage buff that you won't even need to think about during a match.

And on top of everything else, Wonder Woman has 0 projectiles, quite literally 0. This means that she'll gain the benefit of Pugilist with every single one of her attacks, even if the damage increase is small. As far as characters who get a ton of mileage out of Pugilist go, Wonder Woman is probably among the few characters who get the most out of having this Perk equipped.
