Finn the Human is one of the original characters people could use in Multiversus during its long open beta period. He's not a newcomer like Jason Voorhees, the Joker, or soon-to-arrive Agent Smith. So, those of you who like his playstyle have had plenty of time to become familiar with him. And, in the open beta, Finn had some really strong Perk setups that could have a massive impact on a match.

There are hundreds if not thousands of characters that Warner Bros could easily add to Multiversus if they so desired it, and here are the top picks.

But now, in the full release of Multiversus, the Perk System has basically been reworked entirely, and there are a lot fewer options than there used to be. Still, there are certain Perks that are a lot better to have equipped on Finn than the alternatives, so let's take a deep look at which Perks, in particular, he finds the most use with.

Signature Perk

Backpack Strength

Multiversus - Backpack Strength Signature Perk

Name

Effect

Backpack Strength

Finn's backpack attacks deal more damage and knockback based on the coins he's holding, but he also loses more coins when he attacks with his backpack.

Quite honestly, when it comes to Finn the Human's Signature Perk, it's really kind of a no-brainer. Just like how it was in the open beta of Multiversus, Finn's other (non-default) Signature Perk option, Going Out of Business, is just not very good. The gold discount aspect of it is nice, but it's difficult to use in those 10 seconds (or after reaching 100 damage), and in general, the benefit from Backpack Strength is far greater.

With Backpack Strength, the strongest move in Finn's arsenal, his Backpack Attack, will deal even more damage and knockback. Of course, the tradeoff is that when Finn is hit, he'll lose more of his coins than he would without this Perk equipped, but those coins weren't serving much of a purpose anyway in most scenarios, so this isn't that noticeable of a punishment. Additionally, if you can avoid taking damage and capitalize on your coin hoard when using Backpack Attack or even your Dash Attack, the damage and knockback potential shoots through the roof, which is exactly why there's almost 0 reason to not have Backpack Strength equipped at all times.

Team Perk

Snowball Effect

Multiversus - Finn Snowball Effect

Name

Effect

Snowball Effect

Your team gains a 7 percent damage boost against the enemy with the highest damage. If your teammate also selects this perk, the damage boost is doubled.

You'll find that on a lot of characters in the full-release version of Multiversus, a lot of the best Perks are the same. While the team at Player First Games did simplify the Perk System between the open beta of the game and now, they may have simplified it too much because there's almost 0 individuality between characters in what Perks work the best for them. Finn is no different, as the Team Perk that offers the strongest passive benefit, Snowball Effect, is his best-in-slot option.

Snowball Effect is just a flat 7 percent damage boost where you don't really need to worry about what to do in order to activate the Perk, you can just fight as you normally would, and that's exactly why it's the Team Perk to go with.

Strong Perk

Airwalker

Multiversus - Finn Airwalker Perk

Name

Effect

Airwalker

Inputing a neutral dodge in the air will spawn a platform below you. This platform consumes half of your dodge meter and overrides parry.

On release, it's very likely that we would have recommended Last Stand for Finn's Strong Perk rather than Airwalker. But, now that a bit of time has passed and people have found some truly absurd ways to utilize Airwalker, it's by far the best-in-slot choice for Finn, especially since he's such a speedy character. Assassin characters like Finn, Marvin the Martian, or Arya Stark benefit the most from using Airwalker to extend their combos and utilize on-the-ground attacks in the air, as the longer they can keep a combo going, the better.

If an Assassin's opponent has a chance to recover, that means they have a chance to get a hit in on the Assassin and potentially kill them since they are much more vulnerable at high damage, but with Airwalker Finn can basically bully his opponents and keep them helplessly juggled as long as you practice the right attack strings.

Standard Perk

Pugilist

Multiversus - Finn Pugilist Perk

Name

Effect

Pugilist

Your melee attacks deal increased damage.

There are only a very specific few characters in which Pugilist isn't the best Standard Perk option, and Finn is not one of them. This Perk just makes standard attacks (AKA any non-ranged attack) stronger, which means it'll have a massive impact over the course of the match since Finn attacks often, attacks fast, and is always attacking with melee in the form of his sword, his backpack, or his hands.

There's of course an argument to be made for picking Armor Killer instead, since Finn utilizes a lot of fast lower-damage attacks Armor Killer will have a very high chance of being used. And, against specific opponents with a lot of Armored attacks, such as Superman, switching to a loadout with Armor Killer is probably the right move. But, overall, in the vast majority of situations, Pugilist will have the most beneficial effect on Finn the Human.
