As she gears up for the debut of her introduction into the MCU, Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani reveals that she doesn’t want to meet Robert Downey Jr., otherwise known as Iron Man. Ms. Marvel is just the latest addition to the many Marvel Studios series already featured on Disney Plus.

Ms. Marvel will follow in Moon Knight's footsteps, as it is ushering an entirely brand-new character into the MCU with Vellani's Kamala Khan. Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are set to helm the Disney Plus series. Bisha K. Ali will be serving as the show’s head writer as well. The character of Kamala Khan made her first appearance in Marvel Comics back in 2014. Kamala was created by Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker. Starring alongside Vellani are fellow Ms. Marvel cast members Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Laurel Marsden, Adaku Ononogbo, Laith Nakli, Travina Springer, and Aramis Knight.

The new Ms. Marvel trailer illuminates Kamala's inherent obsession and adoration with The Avengers. As she starts to develop powers of her own, Kamala suddenly realizes she may not be that different from the many heroes she had idolized and looked up to most of her life. However, apparently, Vellani also shares her character Kamala Khan's inherent fascination with The Avengers clan. With Ms. Marvel's release date right around the corner, Vellani has been making the usual press junket rounds for the upcoming Disney Plus series. In a new interview shared by Ms. Marvel UK, Vellani opens up about her deep love for Iron Man.

“Kamala and I are basically the same person, except I’m Canadian, and my favorite person is Iron Man,” Vellani shared. However, when she was asked whether she had met Downey Jr. before, she quickly replied, "absolutely not." She continued by explaining why she hopes such a meeting doesn't happen, saying, “I don’t think I can, I genuinely think I’m going to implode If I do. It’s not going to be pretty - for either of us.” Vellani seemed to even be blushing when Downey Jr's name was mentioned, reiterating that she is too star-struck to ever meet him face to face.

Still, it seems as though the two MCU members are destined to cross paths at some point. It just seems that Vellani is hoping that when that day does arrive, she is able to maintain her composure and excitement in the presence of the legendary Iron Man.

Ms. Marvel premieres on Disneu Plus on June 8, 2022.
