Marvel Studios has upped the promotional campaign for Ms. Marvel and is releasing content regularly to increase the hype for the upcoming Disney Plus series. The latest offering from the studio is a set of colorful character posters that offers a new look at the main cast of the much-awaited series. The eye-catching posters were shared on the studio’s social media channels, and introduced each character that is expected to play an integral role.

The studio first announced Ms. Marvel back in 2019, and 19-year-old Pakistani-Canadian actor Iman Vellani was brought on board in September 2020. The much-awaited series introduces the first Muslim superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the cultural influences have been visible in all the official posters that have been released so far. The latest character posters follow a similar theme, using splashes of color and abstract art in the background.

The first poster in the series features Vellani's Khan, with the caption simply reading, “Meet Kamala.” Dressed in her recognizable superhero costume, which has been put on display in the multiple Ms. Marvel trailers, Vellani's titular character poses in front of unique art that features multiple women. The MCU is finally giving its female characters a bigger platform to showcase their abilities, and this Ms. Marvel poster is its perfect representation. Khan joins an array of female heroes who have been introduced as part of Phase 4 of the MCU.

Apart from Khan, the latest Ms. Marvel posters feature the hero’s friends, allies, and parents. The characters include Khan's parents Zenobia Shroff's Muneeba Khan and Mohan Kapoor's Yusuf Khan, her brother Saagar Shaikh's Aamir Khan, and some of her friends and potential frenemies Matt Lintz's Bruno Carrelli, Yasmeen Fletcher's Nakia Bahadir, Rish Shah's Kamran, Laurel Marsden's Zoe Zimmer, and Travina Springer's Tyesha Hillman. The cast also includes Fawad Khan as Hasan, Arian Moayed as Agent P. Cleary, Alysia Reiner as Agent Sadie Deever, Laith Nakli as Sheikh Abdullah, Nimra Bucha as Najma, and Aramis Knight as Kareem, a.k.a. Red Dagger.

The character posters are all extremely colourful, and highlight some of the styles from the original Marvel Comics that first introduced Khan. The Ms. Marvel series is an adaptation of the comics, bringing Khan's first live-action version into the MCU. If the posters are anything to go by, it seems like the series will be heavily influenced by the stylistic personality that the comics created.

Ms. Marvel premieres on Disney Plus on June 8, 2022.
