At the time of writing, Jimmy 'MrBeast' Donaldson surpassed the 200 million subscriber count on YouTube. To celebrate the milestone, MrBeast posted a picture of the subscriber count on social media and expressed the disbelief that his younger self would have had at such a count. However, the 25-year-old YouTube sensation said he still has plenty of years of content creation.

Though MrBeast is known for his philanthropy and viewer challenges, the North Carolina-based content creator is also known for his dedication to his craft. Though some of his earlier videos got thousands of views, MrBeast's rise to fame came in 2017, as his 23-hour video of him counting to 100,000 gained 29 million views. Despite some critics pondering if MrBeast's extravagant viral challenges are exploitative, that has not stopped MrBeast from continuing to use his fame and wealth to support his audience and charities. As a result of his popularity, MrBeast has won numerous content creator awards, from the Streamy Awards to the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. However, this latest distinction may be one of the largest of his career to date.

Man Sentenced to Prison After Monetizing Gaming Videos

After uploading YouTube videos to his channel, a 53-year-old man receives a prison sentence and a fine for violating his country's anti-piracy act.

On Saturday, October 14, MrBeast posted on social media that his main YouTube channel hit 200 million subscribers. This latest count made MrBeast the second-most popular YouTube channel at the time of writing, with the T-Series channel from India standing at the top spot with 251 million subscribers. However, MrBeast is the top channel to not be from a brand, and his current subscriber count is nearly double that of Swedish YouTuber Felix 'PewDiePie' Kjellberg. In late 2022, MrBeast passed up PewDiePie in subscriber count.

However, that is not the only record MrBeast broke on October 14. A video that came out the same day, the "$1 vs $100,000,000 House" video, had over 65 million views at the time of writing and was the top trending video on YouTube. This video broke the record for most views in a 24-hour span, which was set by none other than MrBeast himself with his "7 Days Stranded at Sea" video that garnered over 47 million views in a single day. On social media, other content creators and fans congratulated MrBeast on reaching 200 million YouTube subscribers. MrBeast said the new video's success was the result of some changes that he and his production team made.

While MrBeast's reputation for skipping awards shows to work on videos may not fade anytime soon, neither will the success of both his videos or his YouTube channel. It remains to be seen if MrBeast will pass up T-Series for the top spot on YouTube's subscriber count.
