Moving Out is a quirky local co-op game that has been favorably compared to Overcooked, but it focuses on moving furniture instead of cooking meals. Moving Out reviews have been mostly positive so far, though the game does have some detractors. Luckily, anyone on the fence about Moving Out can try it out at no extra charge, as long as they have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, that is.

With no prior announcement, Microsoft has released Moving Out on the Xbox Game Pass service. Usually it's just first-party Xbox games that release on Game Pass on their launch days, so the sudden release of Moving Out is definitely a surprise for subscribers. And like with other Game Pass games, anyone that plays it on Game Pass and wants to keep it forever can get it at a discounted rate.

Of course, Moving Out isn't the only new game on Xbox Game Pass today. The first-party Xbox Game Gears Tactics is also available, though it currently is limited to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on PC. An Xbox One version of Gears Tactics is in the works, though no release date information has been announced at the time of this writing.

Moving Out's surprise Xbox Game Pass release should see the game get a bit more attention than it would have otherwise, so here's hoping it hits the spot for those looking for fun local co-op games to play.

Moving Out is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
