Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is an RPG that combines strategy and action in a widespread medieval sandbox. Players can explore and demolish foes as they make their way across Calradia, creating enemies just as easily as allies. They can create their own army and lead it from within the ranks, fighting alongside their soldiers. The game features a unique playthrough so that no two times will ever be the same.

In Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, players can choose to be a member of someone else's kingdom or charge forth and create their own. Creating their own kingdom offers the opportunity to declare war on neighboring kingdoms while creating their own profitable land. The process is slightly confusing and has several steps that need to be completed. For those players who are ambitious and don't want to be someone's vassal, this is everything that goes into creating a kingdom.

5 Reach Clan Tier 4

Players must reach a minimum of Clan Tier 4 to proceed with creating a kingdom. This means they need at least 900 renown. Renown is essential to leveling up a clan and can be obtained through different means. First, players can visit the arena in any city. In these arenas, there are always tournaments being held that they can participate in. A first-place win will net 3 renown. However, they can use the one-handed Duelist skill that will double the rewards of a victory.

Fighting battles and emerging victories will net players much more renown; however, the exact amount is determined by each situation. The greater the enemy force is in comparison to the player's, the more renown will be given for a victory. This makes battle the clearcut choice over tournaments for potential renown earnings.

4 Possess Land

Players must also be in possession of a town or a castle. It can either be taken by force or be given as a gift. To receive a town or castle as a gift, players must sign up to be a mercenary in one of the already established kingdoms. Later, by speaking to the leader of the faction and completing tasks for them, they can become vassals. Eventually, they will be rewarded for their loyalty with land of their own. Unfortunately, this method is extremely drawn out and takes a long time to complete.

The alternative is to take a town or castle by force. Players can attempt to accomplish this on their own or seek help from others in the faction. To do this, they must be at war with the faction of the land they want to seize. They must provoke them into war by raiding nearby towns if they are not already at war. Care will need to be taken during the setup of the siege, as the garrisoned troops may attack, causing severe devastation if their numbers are greater than the player's.

3 Select A Governor And Establish A Kingdom

Before selecting a governor, players will need at least one companion. They will choose between that companion and two NPCs for whom will be the governor of their land. The person they choose will be exempt from battle until they are replaced in their governmental position.

If the player is a member of another faction, they will not be able to start a kingdom until they leave it. If they were gifted their land, they can leave the faction and keep it, but they will have to remember the faction will not take this action kindly. Once they are freed up, they will need to speak to their governor and select the option to "Proclaim a Kingdom."

2 The Process Of Creating A Kingdom

Once players proclaim their new kingdom, they'll be given prompts for various options to finish creating it. They will be presented with options for cultures and laws. Options will generally include cultures related to the areas the player has under their control in addition to the chosen culture of the player's character. Laws can be changed at a later time if they no longer suit the needs of the kingdom.

Once the culture and laws are established, players will name their kingdoms. Players should not add the word "the" at the beginning of the name because the game will automatically do this, resulting in the word being duplicated.

1 Tips To Having A Successful Kingdom

By declaring a kingdom, players will make themselves an immediate target. Before hitting the button, it would be wise to ensure the kingdom will be strong enough with a large enough army and enough skill to fend off attacking armies. Not preparing could result in severe losses. Additionally, any wars that were active between the player's clan and other clans will be reactivated the second the kingdom is established. The best solution is to end any current wars before forming the kingdom to prevent damage to any parties fighting alongside the player.

Establishing allies, building strength, and increasing the number of parties they have before they establish their kingdom is an excellent strategy for players to be successful. It will make them less likely to easily succumb to enemy factions and more likely to be formidable enemies themselves.

Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows.
