The Star Wars franchise is one of the most popular and expansive media franchises to date. Throughout the canon of the Star Wars was saga, there have been countless pivotal events that shaped the Galaxy. However, none are as iconic as the execution of Order 66, by the hands of Emperor Palpatine, formerly known as Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. Order 66 essentially marked the end of the powerful Jedi Order, as the clone troopers turned against their Jedi leaders due to a secret embedded programming. The Jedi, who were once guardians of peace, respected throughout the Galaxy, were betrayed by their own Empire.
Despite the devastating purge, a number of Jedi were able to survive the atrocities of Order 66. They succeeded in evading the Empire's clutches and went into hiding, carrying with them the last hope to save the Galaxy. In the years that followed, these few Jedi Masters and young Padawans played key roles in defending the Galaxy against the Empire's tyranny. Thanks to their tenacity and patience, the Jedi were able to turn the tables on the Empire's forces, eventually leading to its collapse and Palpatine's downfall.
5 Kanan Jarrus
Kanan Jarrus, also called Caleb Dume, survived the tragic events of Order 66 by going into hiding. He hid his true identity and even carried a blaster, which was a practice uncommon for the Jedi. Kanan first made his appearance in the animated series Star Wars Rebels, and was initially reluctant to accept and embrace his Jedi heritage.
Later on, Kanan served as a mentor to the crew of the Ghost, playing a key role in instigating the early stages of the Rebel Alliance. With his mastery over lightsaber combat and his connection with the Force, Kanan overcame many adversities. He continued to guide and train the young Padawan, Ezra Bridger, before finally sacrificing himself for the cause.
4 Master Yoda
Master Yoda was the revered Jedi Grand Master, and as such was a key figure both within the Jedi Order and throughout the Galaxy. Yoda's unique green appearance, his distinct speech pattern, along with his complex personality, made him one of the most iconic Jedi. After Order 66, Yoda went into exile on the planet Dagobah, where he invested him time in studying the force and continued to guide Luke Skywalker from afar. Master Yoda is known for his excellency in force abilities and his Lightsaber combat, which made his enemies cower in fear.
Yoda's actions had a deep impact on both the Jedi order and events of that shaped the destiny of the Galaxy. He eventually died at the age of 900 years on Dagobah, due to natural causes. However, his teachings and wisdom continued to guide the generations that came after him.
3 Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan Kenobi was an exceptionally skilled Jedi Knight, known for courage, wisdom and leadership. He was once the master of the Jedi-turned-Sith, Anakin Skywalker. Following the events of Order 66, Obi-Wan was able to escape the betrayal of his troops, and fled to Tatooine, where he hid and watched over the young force-sensitive child, Luke Skywalker. Obi-Wan played a crucial role in the battle against the Sith lords, all while helping Luke train to become a Jedi.
Obi-Wan eventually sacrificed himself in battle against the Darth Vader, but his teachings and methods remained a source of great guidance for the young Luke Skywalker. His gentle demeanor and exceptional lightsaber skills made him a force to be reckoned with. Obi Wan is one of the most beloved characters of the Star Wars franchise, with many iconic lines.
2 Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka Tano was a mischievous and quirky little Padawan, who initially trained under Anakin Skywalker as his student. Ahsoka debuted in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, and quickly became a favorite among the fandom. Let down by the Jedi Order's shortcomings, Ahsoka left the Order prior to its fall, and thus was able to survive the events of Order 66. Ahsoka then embarked on a journey of self exploration in order to find her purpose.
Ahsoka's fierce personality, her dual-wielded white lightsabers, and her refusal to abandon her beliefs made her one of the most iconic characters of the Star Wars franchise. Though Ahsoka has died and been revived on two separate occasions, it is unclear how, when, or if she really did meet her end in the Star Wars continuity.
1 Cal Kestis
Cal Kestis, a young Padawan, was traveling with his master, Jaro Tapal, when the events of Order 66 took place. Cal was able to escape the treason with the help of Jaro, but was left scarred for life, due to being unable to save his mentor. Cal made his first appearance in the game Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, which saw Cal take center stage after his identity as a Jedi was exposed in front of the Empire's forces.
Cal eventually decided to embrace his Jedi self, and embarked on a journey to uncover the mysteries of the force and find Force-sensitive children, in hopes of reestablishing the Jedi Order. Cal's story of redemption and resilience, along with his unique lightsaber combat style, captured the hearts of gamers and Star Wars fans alike, and in turn, solidified Cal's position as the most iconic Jedi Knight in the post-Order 66 era.
