When it comes to fashion in anime, there’s usually one thing that stands out even if their overall appearance is pretty iconic. These characters’ headbands have become standouts in the anime fashion scene due to the way that the characters that wear them make it a staple part of their style. It doesn’t have to be extravagant or heavily decorated either. In fact, sometimes, it can be the simplicity that makes it great.

Whether these iconic anime headbands do a great job of holding hair back is up for debate, but at least they look good. Anime fans and even anime other characters know that these headbands are signature items in their respective owners' wardrobes.

10 Yuzuriha Ogawa’s Long-Lasting Headband (Dr. Stone)

Yuzuriha Ogawa (Dr. Stone)

Yuzuriha has been wearing her headband since before her petrification, which means she’s been wearing it for thousands of years. It’s a real mystery how it’s managed to last, but at least she doesn’t have to worry about getting a new one to hold her hair back. The headband itself almost looks like a pair of headphones and is rounded off at the ends along with some iconic swirls.

It does match her outfit and has become a staple in her overall look. She’s never seen without it and it’s pretty easy to see her among the crowd because of this headband. Regardless, whatever this headband is made of must be pretty sturdy to have lasted for so long.

9 Asta's Black Headband (Black Clover)

Asta (Black Clover)

Asta’s headband has gone through quite the journey along with Asta himself. At the beginning of the series, it only had a red four-point star on it. Now, the star has stitches connected to it, and next to it, Asta has his Black Bull insignia. It definitely shows his growth as the series has gone on since it seems to go through some subtle changes.

Seeing how it looks different now is a welcome change since, outside of One Piece, most anime characters’ wardrobes hardly ever change. Even if a character does change up their wardrobe, something as simple as a headband usually stays the same, but Asta’s headband is going along on the ride of changes.

8 Ram And Rem's Maid Headbands (Re: Zero)

Ram and Rem (Re: Zero)

Considering that the two of them are twin sisters, it’s no surprise that they have matching headbands and outfits. However, Ram and Rem do have a few differences in their appearance. The two of them have the exact same headband which is black and has decorative flowers on it, giving it a delicate and feminine appearance. It’s pretty simple in design, but they’re very cute and match Ram and Rem’s outfits perfectly.

Going with their headbands are ribbons that look as if they’re connected to the band itself, but Ram and Rem wear two different colors. Ram’s ribbon is more of a blue-violet color whereas Rem’s ribbon is more of a dusty magenta. Both girls have the ribbons in a flower shape, which looks great next to their actual headbands, making them a little more stylish.

7 Lavi's Headbands (D. Gray-Man And D. Gray-Man Hallow)

Lavi (D. Gray-Man And D. Gray-Man Hallow)

Whether viewers have watched the 2006 show or D. Gray-Man Hallow, Lavi has had stylish headbands. In the 2006 show, his headband was black with green scale-like patterns on it. Compared to his Hallow headband, this one was pretty ornate and more memorable because of how it stands out even with his other accessories on.

His headband in Hallow is a black headband with a red X shape on the left side. Though it wasn’t as stylish as his first one, this one did fit his new look pretty well and still looks great in its own right.

6 Alluka Zoldyck's Headband With Faces (Hunter X Hunter)

Alluka Zoldyck Nanika (Hunter X Hunter)

Alluka already has pretty good style and has more of a modern take on a traditional shrine maiden’s outfit. Her headband stands out thanks to the cartoon faces on it which each have different emotions on them. She even wears bands with the same on two locks of hair that frame her face.

What makes this headband stand out even more is that it eerily matches the expressions that Nanika, an entity that Alluka hosts in her body, makes. On the headband, the faces look cute and maybe a little creepy, but when Nanika is out, they can look downright terrifying.

5 Soma Yukihira's Long and White Headband (Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma)

Soma Yukihira (Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma)

Fans of Food Wars! know that when Soma puts this headband on: he’s getting serious. The headband itself is really just plain and really long, but there’s nothing else to it. It just symbolizes that Soma is about to cook and give it his all, whether it’s for a competition or concocting a horrible dish just for kicks.

When he's not wearing it, Soma keeps his headband wrapped around his left wrist, almost making it appear like a bandage for his arm. Despite its rather plain appearance, the headband is pretty much a trademark of Soma and he’s rarely seen without it. Even Subaru Mimasaka wears a plain white headband when he’s mimicking Soma.

4 Kiki's Big Red Bow (Kiki's Delivery Service)

Kiki (Kiki's Delivery Service)

Kiki’s red bow isn’t just for decoration, but it also functions as a headband. She uses it to keep most of her hair back, but it also compliments the rest of her outfit surprisingly well. She’s usually wearing a dark-colored dress, so having a big red bow on top of her head really makes her stand out.

It is a simple bow and doesn’t have any designs, but the color and size are all that it really needs to pop. The bow perfectly fits Kiki’s style and gives her a youthful and playful appearance.

3 Reki Kyan's Blue Headband (Sk8 The Infinity)

Reki Kyan (Sk8 The Infinity)

Reki’s headband is pretty much a trademark for him, along with his red hair. The blue headband does have some white detailing, but it’s a pretty simple design. Despite it not really matching any of his clothes, the headband does somehow work with the outfits that Reki wears throughout the series.

He has been seen without it a few times, and it’s pretty obvious that he almost looks like a different person when he isn't wearing it. This just shows how iconic the headband is for Reki’s overall appearance and how it makes him seem whole.

2 Haruhi Suzumiya’s Orange-Yellow Headband With Bows (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

Haruhi might change her hairstyle every day, but she always has her signature orange-yellow headband with bows on both sides. Since she’s usually wearing her school uniform, which has sky blue and white colors, her headband usually stands out. The bows on the headband look a little reminiscent of Tohru Honda’s bows from Fruits Basket.

Haruhi usually has her headband on, even when she's not in school. Even if she’s at the beach, Haruhi still has it on along with her bows. Even most of her alternate universe counterparts have this headband and only a few of them don’t.

1 Tengen Uzui’s Flashy Headband (Demon Slayer)

Tengen Uzui Sound Hashira (Demon Slayer)

This headband wouldn’t work for anyone else other than the Sound Hashira himself. It’s large and has huge pink gemstones and strands of smaller light blue gemstones on either side to frame his face. Even as dramatic as fashion in anime is, this headband is pretty out there. Tengen has been wearing this headband since his shinobi days and seems to have added the string of blue gems after joining the Demon Slayers.

Tengen takes great pride in being a flashy guy, and this headband is the perfect accessory for him. Even other characters like his own wives and Zenitsu have to tell him when to tone down his appearance or point out how extravagant he is. Regardless, Demon Slayer fans love him for how awesome his character is and his amazing appearance.
