There are lots of strong and dangerous people in the Spy x Family universe. From a legendary spy who can take out an entire criminal organization by himself, to a master assassin who can send someone twice her size flying with a roundhouse kick.

There's also a group of ex-military soldiers who turn into expert intelligence officers, an organization full of highly-trained fanatics who are ready to do anything for their country, and a girl who can read minds. However, none of them can claim the title of the most dangerous character in the series. The one who deserves that title is actually Yuri Briar. So what makes Yor's obsessive little brother more dangerous than he seems?

Absurd Physical Ability

Let’s start with the most basic measurement of danger first; physical strength. As a member of the Ostanian State Security Service, Yuri is highly trained in hand-to-hand combat, and he is extremely proficient with firearms as well. He can easily subdue an average thug with his bare hand and will give seasoned fighters a run for their money. Sure, he is not as powerful as Yor when it comes to martial arts, nor is he as skillful as Loid when it comes to handling weapons, but he is without a doubt one of the strongest characters in the series.

Another one of Yuri’s stand-out physical attributes is stamina and endurance. If he sets his mind to it, Yuri can do anything for a long time without losing any steam. The fact that he is an extremely determined person as well means he won’t stop until he accomplishes his objective. Whether chasing after a running suspect or fighting against multiple enemies, he can do it all day and has some gas left in the tank.

However, Yuri’s best physical feature is arguably the toughness of his body. You can punch, kick, and beat him up as hard as you can, and he will stand right back up immediately. You can put all kinds of poison in his body that causes him to bleed from his mouth and eyes, and he will still chase you till the end of the world. The reason why he has such an absurdly tough body is because Yuri is used to being on the receiving end of Yor’s bone-crushing hugs and poisonous foods since they were little. After more than ten years of living like that, Yuri unknowingly develops a bizarrely tough body.

The Ace of the State Security Service

The most feared institution in Ostania is not its military or its police force, but rather a counterintelligence agency known as the State Security Service, also called SSS. The State Security Service government but can also act independently of it. They can do whatever they want for the sake of catching spies and rooting out traitors. They have the authority to apprehend anybody whom they consider to be a suspect and do everything they want to extract information from the suspect.

Second Lieutenant Yuri Briar is one of the top officers of the State Security Service. He is well known throughout the organization for his high physical ability and his relentlessness in completing his missions, which translated into quite a few accomplishments despite his young age. Thanks to this, Yuri has unknowingly built an extensive network with lots of influential people within the agency. Fellow SSS officer who would gladly help him in his time of need.

There are numerous ways to deal with somebody who is physically strong. However, when said person happens to work in a counterintelligence agency that is feared by the entire nation and has an unprecedented amount of authority, then the difficulty level has increased dramatically. Even somebody as skillful as Loid Forger won’t be able to take out Yuri without suffering the wrath and the full might of the SSS behind him.

Excessive Affection for Her Sister

Everybody knows Yuri loves his sister Yor very much. Some might even argue that he loves her too much. Mind you, the affection that he has for Yor is akin to an extreme familial love, rather than a romantic love between a man and a woman, but it is still excessive nonetheless. He is, without a shred of doubt, a siscon to his core.

Yor is everything to Yuri. She is the only family that he has left. She has always been there for him since they were small and remains to be the only one who truly loves and cares about him. For all intent and purpose, Yor is Yuri’s world.

Unfortunately, this excessive affection can also turn him into a savage monster. Imagine how devastated he would be if something bad were to happen to Yor. Imagine what he would do to the person who hurt his beloved sister. Imagine what he can do with his absurd physical powers and the full support of the SSS behind his back. Imagine what he would do if he found out that Loid was a Westalis spy and he used her sister to accomplish his mission.

Yuri’s extreme affection for Yor can easily turn into extreme hate and anger towards other people who hurt her. With the resources that he has, be it his own physical body or the vast network of information and manpower of the SSS, there are so many things that Yuri can do to satisfy his thirst for revenge. That is why Yuri is the most dangerous character in Spy x Family.
