  • Xbox Game Pass receives 7 top wishlisted games from 2024's summer showcases.
  • Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase revitalizes interest in its first-party lineup.
  • Day one Game Pass releases like Doom: The Dark Ages and Gears of War: E-Day dominate wishlists, promising a bright future.

Out of the top 10 most wishlisted games that made appearances during 2024's summer showcases, seven of them are coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one, according to data revealed in a recent report. With so many highly-anticipated titles releasing on the service in the near future, this information suggests that Xbox Game Pass could finally turn the corner in the eyes of mainstream gamers and become even more of a behemoth than it already is.

After months of disparaging news and rumors surrounding the Xbox brand, Microsoft hosted an incredible Xbox Games Showcase that revitalized interest in the platform holder's first-party lineup. The company showed off a variety of games from all three of its major publishing arms, including Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Bethesda's Doom: The Dark Ages, and Xbox Game Studios' Perfect Dark. The showcase was considerably more well-received than Sony's May State of Play and Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest events, both of which were met with fairly lukewarm reception from gamers on social media. As such, it shouldn't come as a surprise that games from the Xbox Games Showcase are dominating the popularity charts, as one report seems to indicate.

Xbox Game Pass has many fantastic titles from varying genres, and here is a look at the best RPGs the service has to offer.

According to data provided by Gamesindustry.biz's Christopher Dring, seven of the IGN Playlist app's top 10 most wishlisted games from May 30 to June 12 are titles from the Xbox showcase that are scheduled to release on Game Pass day one. Although Sony's new Astro Bot game grabbed the number one spot on the chart, several GP releases from Microsoft and its third-party partners managed to fill up a major portion of the list. Out of those day one Game Pass titles, Doom: The Dark Ages was the most popular, as it was the second most wishlisted game on IGN Playlist. Gears of War: E-Day, meanwhile, was a close third, with Perfect Dark, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, South of Midnight, Fable, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 following behind it.
