There are five possible endings to The Mortuary Assistant, and players that are interested in extending their time with the game may want to try to see them all. However, the way that several of the game's endings are accessed may not be immediately obvious, and indeed some fans may find themselves confused about what they are meant to do. This guide is here to alleviate that confusion and provide details on how to unlock all endings in The Mortuary Assistant.

In preface of detailing how to unlock the various endings, it is important to mention that some of this information may function as a spoiler. While care has been taken to minimize those spoilers, and there is little said about the specifics of the endings, players may want to beat The Mortuary Assistant at least once before they continue reading.

The Mortuary Assistant: How to Get All Endings

Correct Body Ending

This is one of the game's "good" endings, and it is quite simple to earn. Indeed, players must only use the correct sigils and burn the correct body to see this conclusion.

Normal Ending

This ending is accessed very much like the Correct Body Ending, as fans of indie horror games will again need to use the correct sigils and burn the correct body. The difference is that players must fulfill these requirements during a second shift in order to get the Normal Ending.

Incorrect Body Ending

Psychological horror game fans that would like to see this "bad" ending should start by embalming the first two bodies. When that has been done, players should intentionally make a mistake. This mistake could be burning the wrong body, using the wrong sigils, or forgetting a reagent, and indeed all these errors will lead to the Incorrect Body Ending.

Basement Ending

For this ending, players must enter the basement by following these steps:

  1. Get the key from the bottom drawer in the embalming room.
  2. During the hallucination sequence with the upright corpses, check their foreheads to get an access code.
  3. Use that code to get the basement key and open the door.
  4. Complete the shift by using the correct sigils and burning the correct body.

Closure Ending

This is among the "good" endings to The Mortuary Assistant, and PC players that would like to see it should grab the sobriety coins from Rebecca's apartment and from the cabinet with the ID cards. Fans should then place those coins in Rebecca's hand while she is hanging and then use the correct sigils and burn the correct body to get the Closure Ending.

To note, players will get a "game over" if they allow themselves to become fully possessed or they burn a body before the time is right. While this may not be the type of ending that mystery game fans have in mind, those that want to see absolutely everything that the game has to offer should let their character fail in one of these ways.

The Mortuary Assistant is available on PC.
