Mortal Kombat 11 creative director Ed Boon is back to confusing fans with cryptic posts on Twitter. Boon recently shared a video featuring a montage of Reptile in Mortal Kombat 11, with the caption, "Random Reptile Video." Boon is known for misleading fans with mysterious teasers, but is also known for revealing DLC characters early. The Reptile video shared has led fans to debate whether Boon's tweet is a reveal or another way to keep fans guessing.

The YouTube video Boon shared comes from "KayGee," who also has two more similar videos posted on YouTube with footage of characters Ermac and Smoke in Mortal Kombat 11. According to "KayGee," Kombat Pack 3 will feature the three classic fighters: Reptile, Ermac, and Smoke.

While some fans believe that Boon's tweet means the third Kombat Pack is coming soon, others are expressing doubt considering the second Kombat Pack containing Mileena, Rambo and Rain released only a month ago along with the release of the next-gen Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate. Mileena was one of the most highly requested characters before being confirmed to the Kombat Pack, and Boon confused fans with teasers and denied her return in weeks leading up to her reveal.

Based on Boon's history of teasers and mysterious messages, fans may have no idea what characters are coming next. Since Mortal Kombat 11's release in March 2019, many characters have been leaked or teased, yet have not made it to the roster. Evil Dead's Ash Williams has been leaked several times, but has not been included in a Kombat Pack. Mortal Kombat developers seem determined to keep fans guessing what surprises come with the next Kombat Pack.

The Reptile video Boon shared also has a description that mentions Sektor and Cyrax, two robots who first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3. Both have previously appeared in files in a massive leak of Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters so it is possible the duo could make an appearance as playable characters. However, based on the number of misleading leaks in Mortal Kombat, fans should be wary about upcoming characters.

Reptile, Smoke, and Ermac are well-known characters that would make a great addition to the roster. All three characters debuted as secret unplayable characters in the Mortal Kombat franchise before being added to the roster later on. Ed Boon's tweet seemingly revealing Reptile seems too good to be true, but the same was said about many of the creative director's actual character reveals.

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
