Fighting game fans love Mortal Kombat for mainly two things: Gruesome fatalities and the wildly-unique cast of Kombatants available in the games. Thanks to recent releases, MK fans have seen the likes of Kratos, Spawn, and even the Joker add their bloody take on the Mortal Kombat concept. Now that the Aftermath expansion for Mortal Kombat 11 looms closer than ever, fans remain excited for the new content about to arrive in the franchise.

Moreover, fans of MK will likely be more excited about the new cast of characters that may grace the Mortal Kombat: Aftermath roster at a later date. With RoboCop stopping crime occurring as far as the other realms, who else could protect Earthrealm from Shao Kahn's forces?

10 Nemesis (Resident Evil)

In Resident Evil 3, the villainous Umbrella Corporation created Nemesis to hunt down the remains of the STARS team from the first game. His presence makes RE 3 extra terrifying as Nemesis persistently follows Jill Valentine, this entry's protagonist, throughout Raccoon City. It's about time Mortal Kombat characters got a taste of what it's like to be chased by this hulking behemoth.

Nemesis can bring his colossal size to wreak havoc within the Mortal Kombat roster. Similar to his Marvel vs Capcom counterpart, Nemesis will rely on massive attacks to compensate for slow movement speed. His fatalities can include using his signature rocket launcher, and killer grapples.

9 Wolverine (Marvel)

Wolverine remains as one of Marvel Comics' most popular characters, thanks in part to his aggressive nature and claws-first attitude. Born with retractable bone claws and a strong healing factor gave Wolverine impressive regenerative abilities. After human experiments with the Weapon X project, Wolverine found his entire skeleton embedded with Adamantium, the most durable metal in Marvel Comics.

When facing fellow Kombatants, Wolverine can rely on modern military fighting styles complemented by his bladed claws. Unlike most Kombatants, Wolverine won't have weapons as his bladed claws will be his trusted companions. Fatalities can include a Berserker Rage-infused savage attack or complicated slice maneuvers.

8 Geralt (The Witcher)

Who better to hunt down monsters in Mortal Kombat's various realms than a Witcher? Geralt of Rivia thrives in hunting down supernatural threats an ordinary warrior or knight won't be able to dominate. Geralt comes equipped to fight any battle, as all Witchers do. He possesses superhuman skills, different weapons, and an assortment of spells and gadgets.

Geralt can join the Mortal Kombat roster armed with his sword and his assortment of Witcher gadgets. As a trained swordsman, his style will focus on accurate and deliberate slashes, parries, and thrusts. His fighting style will concentrate mainly on disrupting the flow of enemy combos while making sure his attacks hit them. Fatalities can include unique sword attacks aided by his special Witcher characteristics.

7 Bayonetta (Bayonetta)

Bayonetta (real name Cereza) of the Bayonetta franchise hails from the Umbra Witches, a sacred order of magic-users. Being blessed by the Madama Butterfly gives Bayonetta access to powerful spells that work in tandem with her superhuman strength, speed, and reflexes. Fans of Hideki Kamiya's characters will remember Bayonetta not just for her seductive charm, but her speed and prowess in battle.

Bayonetta can give any Mortal Kombat game a much-needed "shine" thanks to her fast-paced and elegant fighting style. Thanks to her signature Scarborough Fair, she can fire guns from both her hands and feet! Moreover, her Umbran heritage gives Bayonetta access to Witch Time – an ability that slows time around her. In Mortal Kombat, she can use this for unique dodge maneuvers and even a couple of stylish fatalities.

6 Dante (Devil May Cry)

Dante, Son of Sparda, spends most of his days hunting demons and other monsters for sport. He's managed to help save the world across five games, acquire weapons of pure demonic essences in each of them, and tap into his demonic heritage for a much-needed power boost. Dante can offer much-needed humor in Mortal Kombat, and Shao Khan will find Dante's very stylish fighting style quite entertaining.

Dante's unique fighting style makes use of his signature sword, Rebellion, and guns, Ebony and Ivory. Moreover, thanks to Devil May Cry's unique "Styles" system, Dante can access unique fighting styles that can change the way he does battle. For his fatalities, Dante can tap into his heritage and use Devil Trigger – a unique form that transforms him into a demon to cause massive damage.

5 Ezio (Assassin's Creed)

assassin's creed 2 ezio

Humans continue to prove they are just as powerful as their otherworldly counterparts, and if Sub-Zero and Scorpion want a challenge from humans of Earthrealm, perhaps Ezio of Assassin's Creed might prove worthy of their attention. Ezio hails from the ancient order of Assassins, and he's specially trained to take out threats across the world.

Armed with his trusty hidden blade and different assortment of tools, Ezio may just be able to dispatch threats as soon as he sees them. Ezio can rely on his hidden blade and his training to focus on grabs and parries to dismantle most opponents. His Fatalities can concentrate on dealing clean killing blows to opponents, which can be a welcome sight to most brutal Fatalities.

4 Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid)

Solid Snake already saved humanity from world-threatening threats: psychics, super soldiers, and gigantic nuclear-armed Metal Gears. So who's to say Solid Snake of Metal Gear can't fight otherworldly threats?

In the Mortal Kombat universe, Solid Snake can rely on his superhuman biology, military training, and an assortment of unique gadgets to fight his opponents. Solid Snake can use his CQC to confront Kombatants head-on. In Metal Gear, Solid Snake's CQC combines different fighting styles to use grabs, parries, and sure strikes. Fatalities of Solid Snake can include chokeholds and precision strikes with his trusty M911A1 pistol and knife. He may even call for a nuclear attack from a Metal Gear to his location.

3 James Bond, 007 (James Bond)

What's a super-spy got to do in the Mortal Kombat universe? Fans of the 007 series might not be accustomed to seeing James Bond bloodied after fighting otherworldly opponents. However, James Bond in Mortal Kombat can have quite an exciting storyline. He may have to save a damsel in distress stuck in one of the other realms. Whatever the reason, 007 will find himself equipped with his wits, MI6 training, and an assortment of unique gadgets.

James Bond fighting in Mortal Kombat can be just as ridiculously insane as the idea of an actor (ahem, Johnny Cage) fighting in a tournament to the death. However, if Cage can do it, so can 007. Bond's fighting style will probably focus on using an assortment of gadgets to eliminate his opponents.

2 Darth Vader (Star Wars)

Just how powerful are Shang Tsung and Quan Chi's sorcery against the Dark Side of the Force? Darth Vader, formerly Anakin Skywalker, earned infamy as one of the most powerful Sith Lords to have ever graced the Star Wars Universe. Darth Vader can channel the Force through flight and telekinesis, as well as varying degrees of telepathy. These abilities, coupled with his lightsaber, could easily make Darth Vader a threat to Kombatants.

Darth Vader's fighting style in Mortal Kombat would most likely focus on precision strikes with his lightsaber, while his grapples and throws can involve using the Force. Darth Vader's fatalities can include the iconic Force choke, or even calling upon the Galactic Empire's for a Death Star attack.

1 Doom Guy (Doom)

Doom Slayer with sword

Doom Guy has gone through Hell and back with the same annoyed look on his face. He fought wave after wave of demonic hordes – first in Mars' many moons and eventually Hell itself. Thanks to the Praetor armor and the many weapons scattered in the Doom series, Doom Guy managed to tear through hordes of zombies, demons, and other monstrosities to get back to Earth.

Of all the Kombatants above, Doom Guy will be enjoying his stay in Mortal Kombat the most. Doom Guy will rely on using his fists and other crazy weapons such as rocket launchers and chainsaws to fight sorcerers, ninjas, and otherworldly beings. His fatalities can include using the environment to deal devastating blows to enemy Kombatants.
