Future updates and DLC releases should only improve the Mortal Kombat 1 experience.

Mortal Kombat 1 fans have a lot to look forward to in the near future. Most notably, Invincible's Omni-Man will be joining the roster on November 9. Omni-Man will be the first Mortal Kombat 1 DLC character and the game's first guest fighter. Later in the month, Tremor is joining the MK1 roster as a Kameo fighter.

Mortal Kombat 1 fans overwhelmingly voted in favor of crossplay being added first. Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay would presumably let PC, PlayStation, and Xbox gamers go head-to-head, but one has to wonder if Switch players will be left out of the mix. After all, the Mortal Kombat 1 Switch experience is a significant downgrade compared to the versions of the game on other platforms, and it's hard to imagine exactly how that would work.

Future updates for Mortal Kombat 1 are expected to address the lackluster Switch version of the game as well. Mortal Kombat 1's Switch port has been heavily criticized for its lackluster performance and poor graphics, so any improvements will definitely be appreciated by fans on the platform. Even so, it's unlikely that any updates could significantly improve MK1 on Switch.
