A PC mod has added character skins of some of Pixar's most adored characters into the brutal and bloody world of Mortal Kombat 1. Having launched back in September 2023, Mortal Kombat 1 is a soft reboot of the iconic fighting series that sees Fire God Liu Kang create an all-new universe. Nominated for Best Fighting Game at the 2023 Game Awards, Mortal Kombat 1 ultimately lost out to its rival, Capcom's Street Fighter 6, which launched earlier in 2023 to critical acclaim.

Since launch, Mortal Kombat 1 has already released two DLC characters: franchise villain Quan-Chi and a crossover with Omni-Man from Amazon's hit animated series Invincible. Mortal Kombat 1 still has several other interesting characters lined up as well, such as Homelander from The Boys, DC's Peacemaker, as well as Mortal Kombat characters Ermac and Takeda. Most recently, the second post-launch Kameo fighter Khameleon has gone live in the game as well.

Mortal Kombat 1's Rumored Deathstroke Character Makes a Lot of Sense

Deathstroke may make an appearance as one of Mortal Kombat 1's DLC characters according to leaks, and he would be a pretty sensible inclusion.

It seems all these new characters joining Mortal Kombat 1 aren't enough for some, as a hilarious mod has been created which brings some of Disney Pixar's most beloved characters into the fighting game. On Twitter, iScreamFGC pointed to a short clip of the mod in action, which sees Woody from Toy Story squaring up against the champion of the Scare Floor, James P. Sullivan from Monsters, Inc. Fittingly, Woody and his cowboy hat were mapped to Kung Lao, and Sully took the moves of one of Outworld's fiercest warriors, Reiko. Woody's good pal Jessie also made an appearance as his Kameo partner before Woody pulled off a brutal fatality on Sully, tearing him in two.

The creator of the mod, Gee Lambo, has a YouTube channel where they showcase the myriad of mods they've made for Mortal Kombat 1. Several other Pixar characters have made appearances on the channel in the form of mods, like Carl and Russel from Up and Fear from Inside Out. Memorable Dreamworks characters like Shrek, Megamind, and Po from Kung Fu Panda show face as well. Gee Lambo also creates mods for other games, as they've replaced Cal Kestis with Fry from Futurama in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Additionally, they've uploaded helpful PC settings guides for games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Ubisoft's recent Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and have several mod tutorials for fans of these games on PC to utilize.

For those who don't use PC mods, there's still much to look forward to with Mortal Kombat 1, as it'll be releasing even more official DLC characters throughout the next several months. Next up is Peacemaker from DC's Max series of the same name, set to join the MK1 roster on February 20. Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda will follow suit later in the year as the summer approaches.
