The way that NetherRealm used a gory MK1 trailer to introduce Omni-Man fits perfectly with his origin. Omni-Man, also known as Nolan Grayson, is a Viltrumite, a superhuman race of warlike aliens. He has used his virtually unmatched power to conquer planets for centuries, tearing through any resistance with little effort. Earth was only the latest planet that he was supposed to conquer, but his plan was stopped by his own son, Mark, who inherited his powers. In the end, Nolan couldn't bring himself to kill Mark, and left Earth in shame. However, he is in no mood to share that same mercy in Mortal Kombat 1.

Omni-Man is famous across the internet, but he isn't the series' first guest fighter from Image comics. Spawn beat him to the punch in Mortal Kombat 11 .

If the player uses Omni-Man to reach the ending of his Mortal Kombat 1 tower, it is revealed that he began conquering the realms of Mortal Kombat 1's timeline. While he does this to sate the Viltrum Empire's desire for conquest, he is unable to fully escape from the mission that he was originally assigned. In his narration, Nolan resigns himself to the fact that he will eventually have to return to Earth and attempt to conquer it once more. In the ending, he's clearly hesitant when he talks about invading Earth, and he even sighs before mentioning Mark's name. It's obvious that he doesn't want to fight Mark, and he may not even want to conquer Earth anymore either. Unfortunately, Nolan doesn't see another way for this to end. He can only hope that Mark is strong enough the next time they meet.

Of course, fans of Invincible should already know what to expect from Omni-Man, but his tower ending is quite revealing regardless of one's knowledge of him.
