To play online with friends in MK1, click “Versus” in the main menu and select “Private” in the Online tab. This will automatically open the friends list, allowing players to invite friends to a private lobby where they can play normal 1v1 or King of the Hill matches.

Mortal Kombat 1’s private lobbies have two modes: Versus and King of the Hill. The former is a Kasual fight between two friends, whereas the latter is a title defense bout with up to eight characters fighting each other.

How to Play Online with Random Players

For random matchmaking, select the Kasual mode. To access this mode, navigate to the main menu and proceed to the Versus section. Select the “Online” option, and then choose Kasual to search for an opponent.

Kasual matches offer two modes: Versus and King of the Hill. In Versus mode, players are matched against opponents of a similar skill level. On the other hand, the King of the Hill mode invites them to a lobby of eight fighters, each trying to overthrow the current champion of the ring to earn Respect Points.
