Mortal Kombat 1 contains a plethora of secrets, hidden objects, and several different modes that all of them can be found in. Something new to this MK title is called Invasion mode, players will need to infiltrate homes and buildings to complete levels and get unique items.
In this mode, players can pick up an item called a Nether Stone; it's not an easy item to pick up, but it is well worth the effort of getting it. In order to get it, players will have to complete a good section of Invasion as well as defeat some vicious enemies.
What is a Nether Stone in Mortal Kombat 1?
The unique key item called the Nether Stone is needed to unlock everything that is locked behind fire walls in Invasion Mode. Without this item, all the skins and other rewards hidden behind these walls will continue to be out of reach. There is only one Nether Stone in Mortal Kombat 1 so far, and it can only be gotten from one source: Scorpion.
How to Defeat the Fire Temple and Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 1
The final zone of Invasion mode is the Fire Temple, and the boss there is a fiery version of Scorpion. He's not an easy battle to take on; this leveled-up version of Scorpion has several phases, each one progressively harder than the last. The first fight will be a basic battle against a normal Scorpion, but the second and third phases add fire powers and more health. Make sure to use a Talisman here that guards against fire damage.
- Phase 1: A basic battle against a normal Scorpion.
- Phase 2: Scorpion now has Hellfire powers and can throw fireballs.
- Phase 2.5: Scorpion disappears and fire chains appear; hang out in the spaces where there are no fire chains to avoid damage.
- Phase 3: Along with his Hellfire powers, Scorpion has added fire armor.
These won't be easy battles, but they are a great excuse to use some of those Konsumables and fire Talismans. So load up before heading in, and be careful to take as little damage as possible. Also, make sure to match up well against the enemy with a great fighter with a matching Kameo.
How to Use the Nether Stone
The Nether Stone is used automatically when walking up to one of the areas blocked off by fire. Make sure to go back through each of the Mesas, completing each area and looking for every wall of fire to get every treasure available in Season 1's first Invasion mode.
