Mortal Kombat 1 launches next month, but its first season of DLC characters has already been revealed. Confirming rumors surrounding the game, Omni-Man, Peacemaker, and Homelander are all set to make it into the game alongside past kombatants Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda Takahashi. Mortal Kombat 1 was anticipated to feature guest characters in the same vein as its predecessors, but the simultaneous unveiling of three is totally unprecedented. Prior to even the release of the first Kombat Pack, fans have already begun speculating on what guests should show up in the future.

It may simply be due to the recent success of their respective properties, but all the guests in Kombat Pack 1 happen to follow the theme of originating within comic books. With Mortal Kombat 11 featuring several action movie characters as its guests and Mortal Kombat X having horror movie icons, it would make sense that the latest title will follow its own theme. There is an undeniable litany of fitting faces from comic books that could find a place in Mortal Kombat 1, but some of the diverse favorite suggestions among fans make breaking out of this trend seem just as appealing.

Doomslayer

Doom Slayer in Doom Eternal

One of the most popular names in discussions about future DLC fighters, the iconic silent protagonist of Doom fits nicely with the violence of Mortal Kombat. No stranger to fighting interdimensional demons, Doomslayer is already rumored for Mortal Kombat 1's second DLC.

Ash Williams

Ash in Evil Dead: The Game

The wisecracking protagonist of the prolific Evil Dead franchise, Ash Williams is probably the most requested Mortal Kombat guest character of all. No stranger to supernatural forces through his history of battling Deadites, there's a reason Bruce Campbell's most famous role was already so close to making it into Mortal Kombat 11.

John Wick/Neo

Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 4 Paris metro scene

With two separate characters frequently requested, either version of Keanu Reeves would match the martial arts and shooting that the series already knows. Unfortunately, Reeves has explicitly expressed a desire for both to remain away from the fight and made the prospect of John Wick or Neo in Mortal Kombat far less likely.

Pyramid Head

The looming threat of Silent Hill 2, Pyramid Head is nothing short of horror and video game royalty for many. It may have been a long shot inclusion for years, but the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake now provides a great opportunity to utilize one of gaming's most unnerving entities in a setting just as violent as its urges.

Deadpool

Deadpool - Deadpool (2013)

While a stretch due to the licensing problem of using a Marvel character in a Warner Bros. product, Wade Wilson's penchant for brutality would truly invigorate the world of Mortal Kombat. The similar Deathstroke is already rumored to be coming with the second Kombat Pack, but Deadpool's inclusion would both coincide with his upcoming film and break down industry barriers.

Michael Myers

The perfect follow-up to Mortal Kombat X's Jason and Mortal Kombat 9's Freddy Krueger, Halloween's Michael Myers would complete the horror trifecta. A force of nature, the born killer known as The Shape has great inspiration for an intimidating moveset and some of the most shocking fatalities ever.

Sweet Tooth

The killer clown mascot of the Twisted Metal franchise, Needles Kane's love of murder makes him just as much of a formidable opponent when outside his signature ice cream truck. With the recent Peacock series bringing the character back into relevance, there's never been a better time to let Sweet Tooth loose.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Buffy Summers pointing a crossbow ready to fire it

Despite rumors of her being considered for multiple games in a row, Buffy Summers never made her appearance as the first female guest character of the series. Considering the lack of representation in the category and her familiarity with taking down the undead, she is the perfect throwback guest character.

Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 19 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
