Drahmin, who first appeared in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance in 2002, could become the Mileena-equivalent for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1. Mortal Kombat 1 was recently confirmed with a handful of familiar faces making their way to its roster. With the game due out in September, fighting game fans shouldn't have to wait too much longer to get the full picture when it comes to the Mortal Kombat 1 roster.

The Mortal Kombat 1 roster should be made up mostly of characters that fans remember from previous Mortal Kombat games, but there will likely be some newcomers as well. There are many possibilities when it comes to returning characters for the Mortal Kombat 1 roster, but one character fans shouldn't expect to see as a playable fighter is Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance's Drahmin.

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon was asked if Drahmin would return, to which he responded, "As a main fighter. Not likely." This means fans shouldn't expect to see Drahmin as on the Mortal Kombat 1 roster, though it does leave the door open for the character to be featured as a Kameo Fighter. Time will tell if Drahmin makes the Kameo Fighter cut, but it will be interesting to see if he eventually becomes the Mortal Kombat 1equivalent of Mortal Kombat 11's Mileena.

Will Drahmin Be in Mortal Kombat 1?

As some Mortal Kombat fans may recall, Mileena was controversially left off the Mortal Kombat 11 roster. This caused an uproar in the community, with NetherRealm finally adding Mileena to the game as DLC. Fans are rallying behind Drahmin now as well, though it seems to be in a more joking manner. There are those who genuinely seem to be interested in Drahmin appearing in Mortal Kombat 1, whereas there are many others who just making memes about the character.

The Drahmin memes and jokes may manifest into some legitimate demand for the character to appear in Mortal Kombat 1. However, even if a fan campaign for Drahmin materializes, Mortal Kombat fans shouldn't hold their breath. Drahmin is not nearly as popular as Mileena and there seems to be general disinterest in the character on the part of NetherRealm, as he hasn't been used in years.

It's always possible NetherRealm will eventually add Drahmin to the game as DLC, but the contents of the first Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack have already leaked online, with Drahmin nowhere to be found. If the game is successful, it stands to reason that NetherRealm will release another Kombat Pack, but again, it would be surprising to see Drahmin included as anything more than a Kameo Fighter.

Mortal Kombat 1 launches September 19 for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X.
