Players will already have fought a rage-rayed Seltas Queen as a main story boss fight, but it's not likely that a single battle will yield enough materials to make the necessary armor set. Intrepid fans will have to venture out and find at least one other Seltas Queen in the wild to harvest from.
After defeating the rage-rayed Seltas Queen in a story boss fight, it will be possible to find wild Seltas Queen in monster dens around the Loloska region. As always, players should prioritize the gold-colored rare monster dens in order to find better loot such as valuable mid-grade ore while exploring. Questing players will find a Seltas Queen to battle against with a little persistence.
How to Defeat Seltas Queen in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin
Players who defeated the rage-rayed Seltas Queen during the main story quests will remember that she is a tricky monster. A good rule of thumb is to use fire element, so players could get Anjanath as a Monstie.
For those who want to slay the monster quickly so they can get the materials for the Shadow of Red 4 quest, a few more helpful tips will come in handy.
To always have the advantage, players should know which type of attacks the Seltas Queen will use. The monster will start with Tech Attacks, change to Power Attacks after uniting with her Seltas minion, and then Speed Attacks when mad.
The greatest method for keeping the Seltas Queen helpless is to wait until she's about to unite with a Seltas and make sure to slay that Seltas in the same turn. This will prevent the Seltas Queen from performing any actions for that turn.
With some luck, players will only have to win one Seltas Queen encounter to get enough materials for the Shadow of Red 4 quest. Since this task involves backtracking to the Loloska region, there are some other activities for players to try that they may have been underleveled for in the past.
