Fans of the Monster Hunter franchise will receive content relative to both Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. To commemorate the release of Wings of Ruin and the successful launch of Rise, Capcom has announced a DLC plan known as the "Capcom Collab," which will be the first of several in the future.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will release on July 9th as a contrast to Rise, focusing an emphasis on taming monsters in an RPG setting. While Monster Hunter Rise will receive DLC content from the upcoming release of Wings of Ruin, the latter will also receive content based on the former, offering recognizable characters and armor from both titles, with some content arriving as early as this week.

The collab will span across several months over the course of the Summer, beginning with Monster Hunter Rise. In Rise, players will have a chance to earn an armor for their Palico based on Tsukino, one of the major characters in Wings of Ruin on June 18th. On July 9th, players who have save data from Wings of Ruinwill earn the "Rider" layered armor set in Rise based on the armor the protagonist wears in the former.

Wings of Ruin players will, in turn, have the opportunity to earn the Palamute monstie as a potential ally, based on the companion in Monster Hunter Rise. The Palamute in Wings of Ruin will be available for players on July 15th with more DLC planned over the course of the year. During the announcement, Capcom had revealed a "roadmap" for Monster Hunter Rise, citing the "Capcom Collab" as 1 of 3 yet to be announced.

Aside from the planned DLC, Rise players can expect patch 3.1 on June 24th which will include emotes, sunglasses, and armor to dress up their companions. At some time by the end of July, patch 3.2 will release, including a "Capcom Collab 2," and in August, patch 3.3 with another collaborative DLC package will become available, offering players content for both Monster Hunter titles over the course of the summer.

The cross-promotion idea is great for fans of the Monster Hunter series as it will give players incentives to try out Wings of Ruin, a more story-driven experience that has historically been unlike anything in the main series. Switch owners who wish to try out the RPG will have a chance to play the free trial version on June 25th, with progress carrying over to the main game upon release.
