Among other things, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak introduced new levels of rarity into the game. This also includes new levels for Monster drops, such as the 8-Star Rarity Glorious Crest.

The Glorious Crest has confused players as it resembles another item in the game: the King's Crest. This guide will help Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak players understand the difference between the two and how to earn this unique drop for themselves.

How To Get The Glorious Crest in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

As mentioned above, the Glorious Crest is similar to an earlier item, the King's Crest. The reason is that both items come from the same monster: the Great Baggi. The King's Crest is a 4-Star Rarity drop, while the Glorious Crest is an 8-Star Rarity reward.

Therefore, the King's Crest can only be obtained by defeating a Low to High-Rank Great Baggi, while the Glorious Crest can only be earned by defeating a Master-Rank version. Specifically, breaking the head of a Master-Rank Great Baggi will give the hunter a 75% chance of acquiring a Glorious Crest.

There are two ways to hunt a Master-Rank Great Baggi efficiently in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The first is to choose the 1-Star MR Quest, BRRRR Plus ZZZzzz Equals, which tasks hunters with defeating a Great Baggi and Lagombi. Unfortunately, Great Baggi does not have its own standalone quest like most other monsters do.

However, there is one more method. The second method would be to wait until a Great Baggi is roaming around in an expedition area, such as the Frost Caverns. Players can choose to go on an expedition when this happens and fight a Great Baggi without interruption.

Before fighting this monster, players should first understand its abilities and weaknesses. At Master-Rank, Great Baggi retains all of its previous moves from Low and High-Rank and doesn't learn anything new. However, as a trade-off, it will now be far more aggressive than before, performing back-steps and side-steps more often. It will also shoot its Sleep Spit at players far more than before, which can be annoying if a hunter is caught off guard.

Otherwise, it retains its major weakness to the Fire Element, with minor weaknesses to Thunder and Water. The recommendation for this fight would be to stock up on Energy Drinks, as they can combat the drowsiness caused by the Sleep Spit and prevent players from falling asleep. If a hunter can successfully break the head of a Great Baggi, then proceed to either capture or slay the beast, they will have a high chance of earning a Glorious Crest.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is now available for the Nintendo Switch and PC.
