There are two main new maps that hunters can explore throughout the duration of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The two areas are called The Jungle and The Citadel, and both of them have a hidden Sub-Camp that can be used as a fast travel point during quests.

This guide will show Sunbreak players how to get to the Citadel Sub-Camp and how to use it for getting around the map faster.

How to Unlock the Citadel Sub-Camp in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Locating the Citadel Sub-Camp

In order to actually use the Citadel Sub-Camp, players will need to accept a quest from Oboro the Merchant back in town. But before the quest becomes available, hunters need to step foot into the Sub-Camp location.

Players can see the exact location of the Sub-Camp circled in red in the image of the map below. Essentially, hunters should start right where the number four is on the map, and then head straight north up the cliff until players spot a tight path leading to the camp.

After Monster Hunter Rise players check out the Sub-Camp area, head back to the Elgado Outpost, and speak with the merchant. He'll have a blue text bubble above his name, and he'll give players a quest to complete.

Oboro's Request

To complete the quest, players will need to go back to the Citadel and slay eight Boggi. Once the deed is done, return to Oboro in the town, and he'll finally get the Sub-Camp all set up and ready to go.

Sunbreak players that are wondering where to find Boggi at the Citadel should easily be able to find and defeat ten of them by searching through Area 8, Area 10, and west of Area 1.

How to Fast Travel to Citadel Sub-Camp

To travel to the new Citadel Sub-Camp, open the Detailed Map by hitting the + button (on Switch) and pressing Y.

In the top-left corner, players will see the new camp and can fast travel there whenever they want to. However, players cannot fast travel if they are in a battle against a monster.

Players can use a Sub-Camp to get access to their storage chest, which can be used to get stored items or switch out equipment.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is available for PC and Nintendo Switch.
