Capcom continues to release behind the scenes content for its upcoming title, Monster Hunter Rise. As the game draws nearer to its March 26 release date, fans have already been treated to several pieces of concept art from its early inception, including images of one Monster Hunter Rise environment, the Frost Islands. This time Capcom has shared some concept art of a particularly furry critter on the game's list of endemic life.

Monster Hunter Rise is taking a little different approach to endemic life than other entries in the Monster Hunter series. Although there are still smaller monsters to farm materials from like bombadgies and izuchis, there now exist several creatures that simply exist to provide benefits to hunters. Some of these creatures provide permanent stamina or attack buffs, while others can be collected and used offensively against monsters.

The stinkmink in Monster Hunter Rise is used to attract monsters to a specific area, or lead them to each other, possibly resulting in a fight. Monster fights can be incredibly helpful for hunters, as it usually leads to one monster becoming mountable. Stinkminks can be found in certain places on the map in the Monster Hunter Rise demo and can be harvested to use later. Some concept art of these pungent critters was posted by the Monster Hunter Rise Twitter account yesterday.

It's unknown how early in Monster Hunter Rise's development these stinkmink art pieces were drawn, but they don't differ much from the final result in the game's demo. However, Capcom could still make changes to the design of stinkminks before the full Monster Hunter Rise game is released. Although the soft critters are cute, they don't make very good scarves, as this poor Palico realized a bit too late.

Endemic life in Monster Hunter Rise are shaping up to be an integral part of gameplay. Wirebugs, a new addition to the Monster Hunter series, are endemic life that provide incredible mobility to hunters and will likely change how players approach wyverns. For hunters ready to tackle more wyverns after the Monster Hunter Rise demo, March 26 can't come soon enough.

Monster Hunter Rise will release on Switch on March 26, 2021 and PC in 2022.
