The sunsetting of Monster Hunter Rise's crossover content comes as Capcom continues to wind down the game's content cycle. Capcom did, however, debut a new Monster Hunter spinoff later in the year, teaming up with Pokemon GO developer Niantic for Monster Hunter Now, a GPS-based mobile game.

Capcom wrapping up Monster Hunter Rise's update cycle has come with plenty of speculation about where the popular franchise will go from here. Leaks have suggested that a new Monster Hunter game may be coming to the Switch 2, the currently unannounced follow-up to the Nintendo handheld-home console hybrid. Rumors of an unannounced Capcom game releasing in early 2024 have also sparked speculation that a new Monster Hunter game may be on the way soon. With no official announcement from Capcom yet, fans will have to wait and see what's next for Monster Hunter.
