There are a whole lot of new features in Monster Hunter Rise that series veterans will need to get used to, but if one thing hasn't changed, it's that players are going to need a lot of monster parts. These materials make the world go round in any Monster Hunter game, and the same holds true here. In order to craft or upgrade weapons and armor, players will need to carve materials from hunted monsters and bring them back to town, but the newest entry in the franchise gives players a way to speed this up. This technique allows players to bring back more monster parts than usual from any quest.

In order to do this, players will have to make use of Monster Hunter Rise's new monster mounting mechanics. Although mounting as a feature has been present for quite some time in the franchise, never before have players been able to control mounted monsters with such accuracy. In Rise, monster can be used against one another in order to deal heavy damage and extract more materials.

Every monster on a hunt can drop three shiny monster parts when they are hit by a mounted monster's attack. To get the most out of this fact, players should start every hunt by finding a monster and mounting it. This can be done with any attack that deals blue damage. Ride this monster over to another one and hit it three times, using the evade ability to cancel the attack animation after the monster drops its first shiny. After hitting the other monster three times, launch the mount into it to knock it down.

At this point, players can now mount the second monster, and should ride it over to the third monster available in the area. Repeat the same process, hitting it three times by evade cancelling, and then launch the mount into that monster. Should players choose, they can then repeat these steps one more time, mounting the third monster and using it to hit the final one three times. At the end of this, there should be nine shinies on the ground for players to pick up and all three monsters should be damaged already.

Depending on what monsters are in the area, players may only want to get the shiny drops from two of the monsters. In this case, be sure to get the target monster's drops last so that the player can deal some damage after knocking it over with a launch. This method works on nearly any quest that has mountable monsters and is a great way to get more materials from a hunt.
