Since the release of Monster Hunter World, Capcom has been focused on continued support for the title, keeping players engaged by introducing new and challenging monsters. However, this post-launch content has not stopped some intrepid fans from daring to bring their own creations to the action RPG, and a recently released PC mod looks to breathe new life into one of the game's biggest battles.

Created by modder UberGrainy, this new mod changes the model for Xeno'jiiva, the final Elder Dragon from Monster Hunter World's story, to that of a colossal Xenomorph Queen straight from the Alien franchise. For players that may have grown tired of slaying Xeno'jiiva, or simply want to see a new model in action, the Xenomorph Queen mod certainly offers a unique experience.

To note, this mod is primarily a cosmetic alteration to the Xeno'jiiva model, and it does not change the mechanics of the battle or its effects. UberGrainy emphasizes this point when asked if the Xenomorph Queen spits acid instead of shooting the Elder Dragon's standard beam, stating that they "don't know much about editing effects yet."

Even still, response to the mod has been very positive, and PC players that are interested in doing battle with the Xenomorph Queen will find installation quite straightforward. That is, all relevant files and instructions are available through NexusMods.

Furthermore, for fans that find themselves captivated by this particular mod, UberGrainy has previously released a numbers additional models for players to customize their Monster Hunter World experiences with. This includes a mod that changes the player character into Nier: Automata's 2B, one that makes the Elder Dragon Nergigante look like Thomas the Tank Engine, and another that transforms Teostra into The Lion King's Simba.

With the upcoming addition of Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher series to the game, and the massive Iceborne expansion scheduled for later this year, many fans may have their eyes on the future of Monster Hunter World. However, this Xenomorph Queen mod may just give them the perfect reason to once again return to some old content, with a new spin, of course.

Monster Hunter World is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
