As many fans of Capcom's action-RPG franchise will likely attest, crossover events like the handful that have occurred in the series' most recent release – that is, Monster Hunter World – are great ways for the publisher and developer to not only bring lapsed players back into the fold, but also keep consistent players engaged. With this being the case, Capcom is set to implement this mashup formula for the Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate with an The Legend of Zelda content collaboration.

As seen in the trailer below, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will feature outfits and weaponry for hunters to wear and wield that resembles a set of clothing and gear for Link in 2017's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. What's more is that the crossover will also include a Link's classic green tunic for players to wear, as well as a Korok and Toon Link skin for their Felyne companions.

For those unaware, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate was already released in Japan in August of last year, but the action-RPG title still has about a month left to go before releasing on the Nintendo Switch in the US. While the wait has been lengthy for some fans in the franchise's Western audience, there's no doubt that this The Legend of Zelda crossover will act as a solid incentive to sway those on the fence about the game into purchasing it.

Although the Nintendo Switch won't be receiving a port of Monster Hunter World any time soon, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate ought to serve as a wonderful substitute in its place. This is especially true due to the fact that it offers the ability to join up with up to three other players for co-op multiplayer action, whether it be online or in person with the use of local wireless. Of course, there's always the ability to play exclusively solo, too.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is set to release on August 28, 2018 for Nintendo Switch.
