Monopoly Go’s Bank Heists Explained

In Monopoly Go, a Bank Heist is a money-stealing memory game that transports you to another player’s bank. In this game, your task is to identify a pattern of three objects. If you successfully select vaults with the same image, the player's funds will be deposited into your account.

The Bank Heist mini-game in Monopoly Go comprises 12 vaults, each featuring an image of a silver coin, a cash stack, or a diamond ring. To successfully rob the targeted player, you need to collect three of the same items. However, each pattern grants a different amount of money.

Diamond Ring is a Bankruptcy. If you manage to find all three rings, you steal all the cash.
Cash Stack is a Large Heist. By matching three stacks of cash, you earn the biggest share of the target’s money.
Silver Coin is a Small Heist. If you find three coins before other patterns, you take away the smallest share of cash.

How to Prevent Bank Heists

The only way to avoid bankruptcy because of a Bank Heist is by spending your money before leaving the game. There is currently no Shield mechanic to protect your bank, and friends — or random players — will be able to attack you while you are away.

But you should keep these about Bank Heists in mind:

Your bank is safe while you’re online. A good strategy is visiting the game frequently throughout the day so fewer heists happen.
The loss is scaled. While the opponent might earn millions of dollars by emptying your bank account, your loss will remain relevant to your inventory.
Bank Heists don’t allow revenge. You cannot target or be targeted by the same player.

How to Cancel a Bank Heist

Unfortunately, Bank Heists cannot be canceled. Once activated, there’s nothing you can do to stop them. We’ve tested exiting the game, removing the cache, and force-stopping the game, but none of these actions could stop the Heist.

If you genuinely don’t want to steal a player’s money, try to make it a Small Heist by finding the three silver coins instead of the diamond rings.
