With Treyarch developers working on Zombies within Sledgehammer's Modern Warfare 3, the expectation among fans is that previous mistakes in Vanguard will be taken into consideration, and adhering to the elements within Cold War's Zombies will be the pivotal factor in its potential success.

5 New Round-Based Maps In Future Update

Cold War gameplay

As Treyarch provided fans with a plethora of content to enjoy within Zombies, with each season adding new maps, weapons, and rewards, fans now view this as a standard for all entries in the franchise. While the most played mode within each title is arguably standard Multiplayer, there is no denying how crucial a worthwhile Zombies experience has been in maintaining player counts for each title that features the mode.

Given the fact that Modern Warfare 3 will not feature the classic round-based maps that fans are familiar with, the possibility of this coming at a later date is certainly present. In that case, Treyarch and any fellow developers in Sledgehammer should look to include more maps or ensure the added maps are entirely new and not only ones from previous games.

4 Faster/More Intelligent Zombies

While it is important to note that the zombies often gain more speed and power within each round in Cold War, Modern Warfare 3 could create a unique experience specifically within this aspect. If developers were ever planning to add more of a horror element to the Zombies experience on this occasion, changing the zombies' AI would most certainly achieve this.

Considering the potential of new perks on top of ones such as 'Speed Cola' and 'Stamin-Up' which include faster reloading and sprinting, developers would be doing fans a favor by creating zombies that are far much faster, intimidating, and intelligent. This would especially work best this time around, as Zombies in Modern Warfare 3 will take place on what is said to be the biggest map yet for the mode, giving players more space to roam around and escape from the grasp of enemies.

3 New Perks

Speaking of perks, one of the fundamental aspects of all Zombies modes in the franchise has been the perks that players have at their disposal. Given the difficulty increase after each round, players must ensure they keep their eye on their perk acquisition and weapon upgrades so they avoid death at the hands of zombies.

With the current plethora of perks present in Cold War, it would be interesting to see which new ones would be added here in Modern Warfare 3 and how this will impact gameplay within the new big open-world map. Setting up new perks and upgrades for players to use each time they play Zombies adds another element of keeping the experience fresh and engaging.

2 Exclusive Rewards

Just as its predecessor did with its Raids and co-op missions, Modern Warfare 3 could replicate the same rewards system. As an extra incentive for players to try these modes, certain camos, operator skins, emblems, and much more were exclusive to these modes and were only attainable through completion.

While it is highly likely that Modern Warfare 3's Zombies will contain its own set of weapon camos for players to unlock, developers could include bundles of content for players to unlock through each season update or new mission addition. Given the high level of anticipation among fans and the hope for a long-lasting experience with Zombies here as opposed to Vanguard, implementing a variety of cosmetics for players to unlock will be a pivotal factor in the maintenance of a high player count.

1 New Unique Modes/Missions

Zombies

Despite the fact that Treyarch may be saving big surprises for their next entry in the Call of Duty franchise, there is no doubt that fans will be hoping for a new and unique touch for Modern Warfare 3 (2023). While it will be important to adhere to fans who wish to have the core feeling of Zombies maintained here, there is potential for developers to do much more in this region, especially since this is the first Modern Warfare title to include the mode.

With the previous Raids and co-op survival missions in Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and the classic Modern Warfare titles, this could be implemented within Zombies with the potential of featuring suspenseful missions. Whether this would run along the lines of horror-themed sequences, exfilling an abandoned and zombie-infested location, or survival in a hospital location that features campaign-like segments, Modern Warfare 3 has the potential to create the most engaging and innovative Zombies experience yet.

With much more yet to be revealed as to how the big open-world Outbreak-like mode will play out, fans will be hoping that there will be much more in store later down the line of Modern Warfare 3's release.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is set to release November 10th on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
