The JAK Purifier is an attachment added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 that harkens back to the days of the original Black Ops. It's an under-barrel flamethrower that can cook opponents at close range to a satisfying degree.

Modern Warfare 3: Vortex Mode Explained
Vortex is a new 6-player mode in MW3 with some strange Zombies mechanics that might confuse players; here’s what they need to know.
Players who love to duck and weave in CQB can use the JAK Purifier as a fun alternative to shotguns. However, this won't be available to everybody immediately, and players will have to put in some work before they can start toasting the competition.
How to Unlock the JAK Purifier
As of Season 1, the JAK Purifier is only available via the Battle Pass. Specifically, it's locked in Sector A14, which means players are going to have to sink in a lot of time before they can get the attachment unlocked.
Players can cut the grind down by using double XP tokens for the Battle Pass. Otherwise, there isn't a way to get to Sector A14 any quicker apart from spamming multiplayer or Warzone games. Special 24/7 map playlists may make the experience more enjoyable for players as they explore all the new things that were changed or added in the Season 1 update.
Make sure to pay extra attention to Daily and Weekly Challenges since they reward big chunks of XP when completed.
After Season 1, players can expect the JAK Purifier to be locked behind a challenge or assimilated into Modern Warfare 3 as an Armory Unlock. The former is the case with a number of old Modern Warfare weapons like the Tempus Razorback, ISO. 45, and many others. However, since the under-barrel flamethrower JAK series of aftermarket parts, it's more probable that it will become an Armory Unlock just like the rest of its brethren.
Unfortunately, the JAK Purifier cannot be equipped on all weapons. It can only be attached to the new MW3 assault rifles (except the FR 5.56), the BAS-B, MTZ-762, Sidewinder battle rifles, and the Riveter shotgun. The previous Modern Warfare guns won't get access to the JAK Purifier, which means players will have to rely on the existing shotgun attachments if they want a quick backup weapon to swap to.
More JAK aftermarket parts are slated to arrive over the course of Modern Warfare 3's first season, though players can expect those ones to be unlocked via Weekly Challenges or potentially Armory Unlocks. Such parts include a twin-barrel attachment for the AMR-9 and a rifle conversion kit for the Tyr revolver.
