Modern Warfare 2 is bringing a re-imagined Shoot House to the game in its first full season, just a few weeks after being released. Fans are already getting a look at what’s arriving in the coming weeks in Modern Warfare 2s first multiplayer season.

Since the game was released, players have been checking out Modern Warfare 2s multiplayer. Ahead of the launch of Season 1 on November 16, the official Call of Duty website has shared some details on Modern Warfare 2’s new iteration of Shoot House, a map from the game's predecessor.

The Shoot House map layout remains more or less identical to its original design in the 2019 Modern Warfare game. The spawn points remain the same, and the buildings and numerous structures used for cover are similar to the original. The key difference from 2019’s Shoot House is the aesthetic of the map. This fresh take on Shoot House is a training ground for the Cartel present in the campaign. The map itself has a much more earthy color palette, with its run-down buildings and greenery spread across the location. In addition, the original map had an influence on Modern Warfare 2 outside its own revival with Infinity Ward, revealing that Shoot House inspired the new Farm 18 map.

The addition of this map is one of many things set to come to Modern Warfare 2 during Season 1. Players will also be getting fan-favorite map Shipment, access to new weapons to be unlocked through the battle pass, a rebranded hardcore mode (now known as Tier 1), and the inclusion of a combat record.

Although the aforementioned additions will most likely be welcomed by players, some would argue that these are features that should have been included in the game on release day. This was a letdown for fans at launch as these features are usually ever present in Call of Duty titles.

Adding a map that was so popular that Infinity Ward created a dedicated mode for it in 2019’s Modern Warfare is likely to please many fans. However, this is not the first time players have seen a map from a previous Call of Duty installment with a fresh twist; the infamous Nuketown map has seen several rehashes across many Call of Duty entries. Furthermore, the addition of Shoot House may indicate that at some point in the future players will get maps from the original Modern Warfare 2, such as Terminal and Rust.

Modern Warfare 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
