The official Call of Duty Twitter account confirms a reveal event for Call of Duty 2023 will be held during Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 5. A newly published Call of Duty blog post states that players will be able to watch the worldwide reveal together in a limited-time Warzone event. In this particular event, players must aid Shadow Company in securing a chemical weapon threat before it falls into the hands of Konni forces. Activision also shared a teaser image for the event that depicts red smoke engulfing the Zaya Observatory on the Al Mazrah map.

Although Season 5 will begin on August 2 in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, the Call of Duty 2023 worldwide reveal will be held at a later date. During Season 5, Warzone players may also choose to side with Task Force 141 or Shadow Company in the "Faction Showdown" event, but this particular event is separate from Warzone's in-game reveal for the next Call of Duty title.

The Modern Warfare 3 and Monster Energy leak caused rampant speculation about an impending announcement. Fortunately, fans won't have to wait too much longer since the new game's reveal will happen within Season 5 soon. The limited-time event may have notable implications for Modern Warfare 3 since players are required to join Shadow Company in directly handling a dangerous chemical weapon. The reveal might happen once a certain objective is met in Warzone, but further details have not been announced yet by Activision.

At the very least, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone players have a lot of promising content to look forward to during Season 5. More content will arrive in a mid-season update, including new maps, operators, and multiplayer modes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
