Well I hope you didn't expect Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to follow strictly in its predecessors footsteps because this news seems to confirm that Infinity Ward likes to mix it up a little... or piss off fanboys. Regardless, it seems a 3rd person mode has been added to the upcoming Modern Warfare 2. To what extent is unknown, but a leaked video (of very poor quality) has hit YouTube but was then taken down.

Bet you can't guess where this leaked gameplay footage came from though... Yep, just like Halo 3: ODST before it, this leak originates from France. Forget about pirating in China and Korea, it's all France! Come on France, you really need to get your crap together. On a serious note, this video led to an official confirmation by Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward's community manager, in an interview with Joystiq.

"This is just another cool way to play the game... you obviously will still have the option to play gametypes normal as well."

Apparently the 3rd person option will only be available in private matches, so you don't have to worry about pre-pubescent children online crying about 3rd person like it was juggernaut.

Look forward to Modern Warfare 2 hitting store shelves (or if your France don't) on November 10th on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, as well as the MW2-themed Xbox 360 package!

What do you think about 3rd person in CoD? Are you as excited for Modern Warfare 2 as we are at Game ZXC?!
