Following the success of the first season, an announcement of the subsequent season was inevitable. Recently, the official Twitter account for the anime made an announcement that confirmed the second season is on the way and will be released on April 9. The first season of the anime started airing in October 2022. Crunchyroll streamed the normal version as it aired, and later it also released the dubbed version of the anime. The first season has a total of twelve episodes, with the final episode released on January 8, 2023.

The second season is being directed by Hiroshi Kobayashi, who previously worked on Kiznaiver and Kimi no Iru Machi. Ryo Ando is the co-director for the new season, which is being produced by Sunrise. Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass, Princess Principal, Sk8 the Infinity) is involved with the series composition and scripts. Juro Toida, Hirotoshi Takaya, and Marie Tagashira are designing the characters for the anime, while Takashi Ohmama is handling the music.

A big announcement related to the cast came out on February 21, and it confirmed Yume Miyamoto will be voicing Nika Nanaura. Yume Miyamoto had to stop working due to health issues. The other main cast members are expected to reprise their respective roles in the second season of the anime.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is the fifteenth installment in the Gundam franchise. Along with the anime adaptation, it has a side story and a web novel. The web novel is titled Cradle Star, and it was released on Sunrise's website on October 2, 2022. The web novel acts as a bridge between the prologue and the main anime. Kana Ichinose was involved in a live reading of the novel, which she narrated on YouTube.

The side-story manga adaptation is scheduled for serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Gundam Ace magazine. It is rumored to begin in Q2 2023. It is being written by Kō Yoneyama and illustrated by Chika Tōjō. The manga will focus on the events after the Valadis Incident, with Vilda Miren at the center of things.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury made history by becoming the first part to feature a female protagonist. The anime tackles the problems associated with the growing influence of technology, and includes other themes such as revenge and corruption.
