Warframe can be such an addicting game that some dedicated players will want to take it with them wherever they go. The problem is, the only mobile platform it's on right now is just the Nintendo Switch. If players don't have that, then needn't worry; they can still get their looter-shooter or sci-fi RPG fix from readily available games on the mobile market.

These games, while not exactly made with Warframe's formula in mind (because there's not many like it) are still similar in their own way. All of them are available in the comfort of Android phones or iOS devices. Some of them are even free, much like Warframe. In any case, Warframe players will do well to check out these games on the mobile platform.

10 Honkai Impact 3rd

  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: October 14, 2016
  • Available on: Android, iOS

Honkai Impact 3rd is an anime sci-fi game that, by now, lives under the shadow of its newer and more popular brother, Genshin Impact. Its gameplay is somewhat similar to Warframe where players pick their own character and finish instanced missions.

The game's main attraction is its action-packed combat not unlike Warframe. Honkai Impact 3rd's own brand of energetic gameplay combined with over-the-top action and a complex anime sci-fi plot ought to be right up any Warframe fan's alley.

9 Star Warfare2:Payback

star warfare 2
  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: October 2nd, 2014
  • Available on: Android, iOS

As the title implies, Star Warfare2:Payback is a sequel. The first game was Alien Invasion but it's seriously dated right now. Regardless, Warframe players will find plenty to like in Star Warfare2:Payback. The usual gameplay loop of the mobile arcade game consists of boss runs and a single-player campaign.

There's also a fully-fledged PvP available with intense game modes and plenty of variety to keep matches interesting. The third-person perspective is just an added bonus at this point and should make it more familiar or easier to control.

8 Shadowgun Legends

shadowgun-legends
  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: March 22, 2018
  • Available on: Android, iOS

Shadowgun Legends is more similar to Destiny 2 than to Warframe but those two titles get compared too frequently anyway and also share the same genre. Shadowgun Legends is going strong in its third year of operation with plenty of guns, skins, and action to keep players occupied.

It's also a PvE looter shooter with a campaign whose typical purpose is to serve as a prolonged tutorial. Because much of the action can be found in the multiplayer or co-op scene along with customization that will put most other looter shooters to shame.

7 Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade

warhammer 40k freeblade
  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: November 19, 2015
  • Available on: Android, iOS

In Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade players can forget about toiling on the ground as a mere Space Marine or measly infantry unit. Freeblade is all about controlling those venerable and hulking Imperial Knights. Thus, it's a turn-based mech game.

Don't be put off by the slower action though, Freeblade can and will get nerve-wracking at times especially when it comes to high-level fights. Customization is also on-point and it's always a joy to outfit or paint one's Imperial Knight as they would a real-life Warhammer 40K figure.

6 Xenowerk Tactics

  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: October 10, 2019
  • Available on: Android, iOS

Speaking of chaotic ground firefights in an alien-infested battleground, Xenowerk Tactics won't lag behind. It also borrows the premise of a Warhammer 40K game where an elite squad of soldiers changes their job description to exterminators.

They must then battle their way through a landscape crawling with hungry and deadly grotesque aliens. It's up to the players to figure out how their team can manage alive out of the sticky situation. As for how it's comparable to Warframe, anyone who enjoyed fighting the Infested will surely find plenty to like in Xenowerk Tactics.

5 War Robots

  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: April 14, 2014
  • Available on: Android, iOS

For anyone looking for something faster and real-time compared to Freeblade, then War Robots might scratch that itch. It's also a mech game but the difference is that it has flowing real-time combat. It's still not as frenetic or agile as Warframe but that's expected.

The mechs in War Robots are as tall as buildings and are armed with enough firepower to take down whole armies. The main mode of gameplay in War Robots, however, is competitive and revolves around classic multiplayer battles. Still, players get to pick and deck out their favorite mechs much like they do with warframes.

4 NOVA Legacy

  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: March 27, 2017
  • Available on: Android, iOS

Back in its heyday, one could swear that NOVA Legacy was an action game exclusive to consoles or the PC. Its graphics were way ahead of its time and the sci-fi setting and story only served to bolster this advantage.

It takes inspiration from certified eye candies in video gaming such as Crysis combined with the gameplay loop of Call of Duty games. Thanks to the space opera atmosphere and dehumanized character designs (thanks helmets!) it doesn't stray off too far from the standard looter shooter experience.

3 CyberSphere: Online Action

cybersphere
  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: September 16, 2017
  • Available on: Android, iOS

CyberSphere has changed its sub-title many times over the years and depending on the platform but it remains to this day an explosive third-person sci-fi military shooter. That's quite a mouthful and there are lots to enjoy in the game though some might consider the graphics outdated already.

That in itself might not be too big of a drawback since that only means it's more available to older phones. In any case, CyberSphere features both single-player and multiplayer battles reminiscent of the Clone Wars from Star Wars except in third-person glory.

2 Infinity Ops: Cyberpunk FPS

  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: April 18, 2018
  • Available on: Android, iOS

While on the topic of futuristic military shooters, Infinity Ops quite possibly gave both NOVA Legacy and CyberSphere a run for their money. One look at the graphics and it's easy to see why. It's like a sci-fi version of Call of Duty Mobile.

It also plays like that multiplayer FPS but the character designs and weapon customizations and dynamics are still comparable to sci-fi looter shooters. Infinity Ops has since changed its sub-title on the Android to Cyberpunk FPS to keep up with the gaming landscape.

1 Punishing: Gray Raven

  • Price: Free
  • Release Date: July 16, 2021
  • Available on: Android, iOS

Finally, one of the latest games to be released that incorporates some looter shooter philosophy is Punishing: Gray Raven. It's also a sci-fi anime game with outlandish characters and an overly intricate plot. One might even mistake it for Honkai Impact 3rd.

That shouldn't be an issue. More of the similar thing means there's more fun to be had. In Punishing: Gray Raven's case, there's actually less commitment required and it lets its players have a life outside of the game.

Warframe was released on March 25, 2013, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
