The third season of Mob Psycho 100 was announced to be in production in the latter half of 2021, and with the release of a brand-new teaser trailer, the release date of the third season is confirmed. October 2022 will see the return of Mob and the various other characters, and the announcement comes as a kind of celebration of the protagonist's May 12 birthday.

A month prior to the release of this trailer on April 12, the official Twitter account of the Mob Psycho 100 anime cryptically mentioned that May 12 is Mob's birthday, and that fans ought to keep that date in mind. The third season will have mostly the same staff as previous seasons, with a few role changes here and there. The trailer can be found below.

The returning staff involved with Mob Psycho III include the director of the first two seasons, Yuzuru Tachikawa, as General Director, while Takahiro Hasui will be taking on the mantle as Director for this season. Production will be done by Studio BONES, with character designs done by Yoshimichi Kaneda. Art direction will be done by Ryo Kono, while the music will be handled by the legendary Kenji Kawai, who will be returning to the series having done the music for the first season back in 2016.

The teaser trailer reveals part of the story for the upcoming season – Mob is trying to figure out his path for the future, as his high school tenure lurches ever closer to an end. While he tries to find his path, a new mysterious organization looms; the Psycho-Helmet Cult. Whether they are friends or foes is unknown, but their rapid emergence brings them into focus.

Mob Psycho 100 follows the life of Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama, a high schooler who has incredible psychic abilities which run out of control if he gets into emotionally heightened states. He aims to live a normal life and learn to suppress his incredible power, but things are not as simple, as various other espers, evil spirits, and terrorist organizations run amok.

Written and illustrated by ONE, author of One-Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100first ran as a webcomic on the Japanese website Ura Sunday from 2012 to 2017, culminating in 16 volumes. The anime adaptation of the series arrived in 2016, with the second season being released in 2019. The third season, arriving in October 2022, continues the series trend of releasing a new season every third year and comes highly anticipated by fans after the various teasers that have been released regarding the series' future.
