One of the fan-favorite features of Diamond Dynasty in previous The Show games was Team Affinity, a reward system that gave players the chance to earn high-level cards from their favorite team. Team Affinity was left out of MLB The Show 22, but it's returning in full-force in The Show 23. Season 1 of Diamond Dynasty will feature a Charisma and Captain Series of cards for each team, all of which will be part of Set 1 just like the WBC cards. For players who usually have to wait well into Diamond Dynasty's lifecycle to build a team of cards from their favorite MLB team, these should be a welcome addition.

Former MLB The Show cover athlete David Wright is also making his long-awaited return in Season 1 as a Cover Athlete Captain card in Set 1.
