If there is any major gripe about MLB The Show 23 that carries from year-to-year it's the premium currency. The stubs produce a baseline for the game's economy and are required for gamers who want to even come close to getting the best equipment in Road to the Show or elite Diamond Dynasty players.
Of course, the developers are hoping that gamers will give up and shell out hundreds of dollars to acquire more stubs packages. Being the best would require spending tens of thousands of dollars every year. Thankfully, there is a way to afford the best items in MLB The Show 23 without having to max out a credit card and it can be done very quickly.
Create A New Character
The first step is simple; create a new character. Do not bother playing with the cosmetics, the goal of this strategy is to repeat this process with new characters dozens of times. Players can choose any position, choosing to focus on power, contact, fielding, velocity, control, or break.
Join any team. With a permanent character, players will want to do certain things to get called up to the major leagues as soon as possible but this character will get its goal while still playing in Double-A ball and then be abandoned.
Play Road To The Show & Change Sliders
If players change the sliders to make their character a deity, the penalty is a reduction in experience gains. However, because this character will be ditched soon, this doesn't matter. Use the easiest difficulty, turn dynamic difficulty off, and change the sliders to make the game unbelievably easy for human players and awful for AI opponents.
It costs nothing to make the best batting stance, so do take a second as this will improve the player even further. After this, doing about anything will become incredibly easy; even bad gamers can hit .800 and knock several home runs per game.
Max Out Program Rewards & Start Over
This is where the magic begins. During these games, players will be given challenges that offer program rewards in addition to passive program rewards for playing well. Because the game is now ridiculously easy, gamers can start maxing out their program points.
After getting to the next level of the program, equip the new skill set and then start leveling it up. After three upgrades, players will reach the diamond skill set which takes 200 program points to max out instead of the usual 100. Open the packs, then sell the expensive perks, players, and gear while keeping the best equipment. After maxing out the diamond level of the program, start over with a new character.
Employing this strategy results in about 100,000 stubs every couple of hours. Even the most expensive players in Diamond Dynasty can be afforded with around ten hours of gameplay.
