MLB The Show 21 doesn't technically release until April 20, but some players have gotten their hands on the game early through early access. Anyone that buys MLB The Show 21's Jackie Robinson Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition can jump into the game early, and they have discovered some major improvements that weren't advertised ahead of time. This includes quality of life changes that should go a long way in making MLB The Show 21 a smoother gameplay experience overall.

As pointed out by Reddit user pricemcdice, MLB The Show 21 makes a big quality of life change when it comes to hitting home runs. In previous MLB The Show titles, players that wanted to see the stats for their home runs had to pause the game. This would lead to some frustrations in online games, but it appears as though MLB The Show 21 has resolved the issue. Now things like home run distance and exit velocity are shown in-game with no need to pause or view the replay.

While there are no published reviews for MLB The Show 21 just yet, fan reaction seems mostly positive so far, particularly when it comes to the next-gen version of the game. This year's edition of the MLB The Show franchise has proven to be rather significant because of its jump to next-gen, in addition to it being the first MLB The Show game to ever release for an Xbox console, drumming up added interest that may not have been there otherwise.

Not only is MLB The Show 21 on Xbox, but it will also be available for Xbox Game Pass on day one. Theoretically, this should make it one of the most-played MLB The Show titles yet, and with quality of life improvements like this, it may very well convince gamers to stick around for future entries in the series as well.

MLB The Show 21 launches April 20 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
