Some eagle-eyed Mortal Kombat 1 players have uncovered a secret Brutality finisher for Omni-Man. Like every other entry in NetherRealm’s bloody fighting game franchise, Mortal Kombat 1 gives players plenty of options for dismembering their opponents at the end of a match, whether through the MK series’ infamous Fatalities or the numerous Brutality moves that can be performed when the enemy’s health is low. Unlike Fatalities, Brutalities can be pulled off without the iconic “Finish Him” message appearing onscreen, and while every Kombatant has access to the standard Klassic (an uppercut that decapitates the opponent), players can unlock numerous other kills by leveling up certain characters.

This also rings true for Omni-Man, who was added to Mortal Kombat 1 as a guest DLC fighter earlier this month. Hailing from the hit Amazon Prime animated show Invincible and the Robert Kirkman comics that inspired it, Omni-Man has access to at least four unique Brutalities, many of which are based on memorably gruesome moments from his home series. In addition to the aforementioned Klassic, Omni-Man can beat his enemies into a bloody pulp with “The Thinker,” snap their necks with “Behind You!,” dash through them with “Coming Through,” and smash them against the ground with “You Got Boned!”

Mortal Kombat 1 Releases New Update for November 2023

The second Mortal Kombat 1 update in November introduces some gameplay fixes and in-game store changes, as well as new content, among other additions.

As it turns out, Omni-Man has another, secret Brutality in Mortal Kombat 1, as reported by The Gamer. Discovered and shared by Reddit user MistahJ17 on r/Mortalkombatleaks, this hidden Brutality is a variant of “You Get Boned!” where, instead of Omni-Man smashing his opponent’s skull on the ground after grabbing them by the leg, the Viltrumite conqueror graphically rips their entire skeleton from their flesh. To perform this gory kill, the player needs to enter the usual “You Get Boned!” combination while also holding down both the Left and Right Triggers during the final input of three Down presses.

Omni-Man isn’t the only Mortal Kombat 1 character with a secret Brutality, as fans have also uncovered a Li Mei finisher variant where the Sun Do police force captain inflates her opponent’s head, causing their body to float into the air and explode offscreen. No other hidden Mortal Kombat 1 Brutalities have been confirmed so far, but players are starting to wonder if other characters have secret attacks waiting to be uncovered - with one Reddit user claiming to have performed such a move with Sindel.

The original Mortal Kombat was legendary for its hidden secrets and Easter eggs, such as the non-playable appearance of the green-clad ninja warrior Reptile and the code to unlock the franchise’s notorious blood and gore on the censored Sega Genesis port. It seems this ethos is alive and well in Mortal Kombat 1, with fans discovering and sharing secret Brutalities like Omni-Man’s flesh-tearing finisher variant. These fans might have only scratched the surface of Mortal Kombat 1’s hidden secrets, especially with NetherRealm set to add more DLC characters in the future.
