Some of the final boss fights in Mortal Kombat 1's Invasions Mode can be incredibly tricky, and this is once again the case in Season 6. Thankfully, there are ways that players can cheese Invasions Mode bosses using Talismans if they're really struggling, but figuring out the intended strategy for beating Sinister Syzoth is arguably a lot more rewarding.

Solving all of the Klues in Season 6 of Invasions Mode can be a little tricky, particularly for players who aren't too familiar with MK1 move names.

Some players will probably be able to defeat this Reptile variant without too much trouble, but for beginners and those unfamiliar with how elemental affinities work in Mortal Kombat 1, the Sinister Syzoth boss fight can be a real nightmare, even if players are able to figure out how best to counter his special attacks. The following guide should help make life a lot easier.

How to Beat Sinister Syzoth (Invasions Season 6 Final Boss)

The key to beating Sinister Syzoth is choosing the right Kombatant, which, in this case, is Sub-Zero. This is because his primary element is Ice, which serves as the perfect counter to Reptile's Acid attacks. Sub-Zero will deal more damage to Sinister Syzoth than fighters of any other element, while also taking significantly less damage from incoming attacks. Players can further tip the odds in their favor by using Konsumables like red or green potions, though this shouldn't really be needed providing players have a decent amount of Attack and Defense stats. If not, they can always reset Sub-Zero's Invasions Mode stats.

Like all of the other Invasions Mode final bosses up to this point, Sinister Syzoth has three distinct phases, with a new phase being triggered each time his health bar is fully depleted. The first is pretty standard, with players just needing to watch out for his acid wave attack. While playing as Sub-Zero, it should be safe to eat this and go on the offensive, though those worried about taking too much damage should keep their distance and study the shape of the wave. There's usually a spot where players can crouch under it, but blocking can also be pretty effective here.

Once the second phase of the fight gets underway, Sinister Syzoth will transform into Reptile's Zaterran form and begin to run from one side of the screen to the other. He gets progressively faster as he does so, so players will need to time their jumps accordingly to avoid getting knocked down. It's almost impossible to avoid taking damage during these sections, but if players are able to dodge most of the attacks, they shouldn't have too much trouble surviving. The final phase is just more of the same, really, only with a slightly different acid attack that is best avoided by getting as far away from Sinister Syzoth as possible.

Sinister Syzoth Boss Fight Rewards

Upon beating Sinister Syzoth, players will be rewarded with Reptile's Thunder Lizard Skin, Reptile's Serpentine Charmer Skin, the Reptilian Eye Key Item, Reptile's Velociraptor Palette, and some Seasonal Kredits. The cosmetics can all be equipped via the Kustomize menu, which is accessed via the game's title screen, while the Reptilian Eye can be used to unlock the green gates found in each of the six Mesas. Behind them, they'll find a series of super challenging boss fights, as well as four additional Season 6 Klues.
