Kameo fighters are one of several new mechanics introduced in Mortal Kombat 1. For the most part, they're used to string together combos and break up those strung together by one's enemies, while also adding a little extra flair to things like throws and Fatal Blows. Initially, there are ten of them available for selection, with five unlockable Kameo fighters making up the full Mortal Kombat 1 roster at launch.

Unlike Havik, who is unlocked via MK1's story mode, the five unlockable Kameo fighters are obtained by playing through different game modes. Players have a few options available to them when it comes to how they go about this, but one is considerably faster than the others, allowing players to unlock every MK1 Kameo fighter in around two hours or so. It's still a fairly large time commitment, but one that most series fans will be all too happy to make.

How to Unlock Every Kameo Fighter in Mortal Kombat 1

In order to unlock every Kameo Fighter in Mortal Kombat 1, players will simply need to increase their profile level. Each one comes with their own Kameo fatality and an assortment of special attacking moves.

  • Scorpion - Reach Profile Level 5

The Fastest Way to Unlock Every Kameo Fighter in Mortal Kombat 1

Players can increase their Profile Level in several different ways, but the fastest method involves playing through MK1's all-new Invasion mode. Getting flawless victories and finishing each encounter with a Brutality is the way to go here, as this not only skips the Fatality screen (thus speeding up the process), but also grants more XP. Players will be able to unlock more Brutalities by leveling up kombatants, but each fighter will start with The Klassic already unlocked. This can be performed by holding down and back punch while the other fighter is low on health. Using this method, players can expect to unlock every MK1 Kameo fighter in around two hours or so.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available now on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.
