Given his importance to Mortal Kombat 11's main story, Geras was always likely to return in Mortal Kombat 1. He's one of the good guys this time around, having agreed to watch over the timeline so that Liu Kang could return to Earthrealm. Players don't get to play as him during the game's story mode, but he is playable in other game modes and has access to a couple of brutal finishers.

Geras' Mortal Kombat 1 Fatalities revolve around time and sand, which seems fitting really given that he spends most of his time watching over the hourglass. They're not particularly difficult to perform, but players may need to spend a bit of time mastering the required positioning. They can do so by watching the videos below, which are accompanied by both button prompts and a written description of how Geras' MK1 Fatalities work.

The videos featured in this guide contain graphic scenes that have been rated 'Mature' by the ESRB. Viewer discretion is advised.

Geras' second MK1 Fatality can be performed at close range by pressing down, forward, back, front punch. If triggered correctly, Geras will create a portal through which he yanks the head and spinal column off of another version of his enemy. He uses it to smash up their face and then hands it to them. Moments later, a portal opens behind them and another version of Geras reaches through it and takes their head, revealing that the portal he created at the beginning of the Fatality was actually a portal through time, which serves as a nice reference to his role in Mortal Kombat 1's main story.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available now on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.
