While only a few of the Gods have been granted a moment to shine in Season 1 of Misfit of Demon King Academy, these divine beings form a crucial component of the world-building and magical system of the entire storyline. Viewers may initially think that Anos Voldigoad's journey follows the typical tropes of Demon King reincarnation. However, once all the Gods are revealed, fans quickly realize how intricate the whole affair truly is.

Considering that many of the Gods only exist in the Light Novel (for now) and have yet to be adapted into anime or manga format, not all of the following imagery depicts them directly (and may reference a corresponding character from Misfit of Demon King Academy source material, or otherwise).

Heavy spoilers lay ahead for anime fans of Misfit of the Demon King Academy, which begins airing its second season on Crunchyroll on 7 January 2023.

Heavenly Father God Nousgalia

The Misfit of the Demon King Academy Strongest Gods Heavenly Father God Nousgalia with Blaze Death King and Jerga
  • Dominion: Wherever he so pleases (apparently)

Don't confuse Nousgalia's title with the fatherly Christian version, as this blonde-haired brute is determined to follow a path of destruction, even if it's at his allies' expense. Under the guise of the Blaze Death King, he initially gives the impression of being a respectable and likable teacher. However, his goal is to facilitate the birth of the "Child of God," which will subsequently be sent out for Anos' blood.

Nousgalia has the unique ability to control all magical energy, with the added feature that allows him to redirect a spell back onto its caster, using his "Divine Words" to govern. He can therefore also create fresh new spells, to keep for himself as secret weapons, or pass on to his minions (such as Jerga).

Avernyu, The Destructive Hypocrite

The Misfit of the Demon King Academy Strongest Gods Avernyu The Goddess of Destruction
  • Dominion: Goddess of Destruction of Militia World

Avernyu is less than pleased with the hand she has been dealt and would rather not take on a harmful role in the Universe; she holds a strange admiration for mortal life instead. Wishing to end the unnecessary deaths of her beloved humans during the Great War, Avernyu sacrificed herself in much the same way that Anos Voldigoad did, however, with a vastly different result.

Two thousand years ago, the Goddess of Destruction was willingly transformed into the Castle Delsgade by the Demon King of Tyranny himself. Most believe Avernyu has reincarnated since (likely as Sasha Necron, completing the trio's reunion, just as promised!)

Militia, The Creator Of Worlds

Militia with the Hero Kanon
  • Dominion: Goddess of Creation of Militia World

The daughter of Elenesia and sister of Avernyu, Militia is like the equivalent of Misha Necron in modern times, specializing in Creation Magic and possessing the sweetest personality around (and are considered to be connected through the reincarnation process).

This benevolent beauty was present for the finale of the Great War, doing her part to cast Beno Ieven alongside the Hero Kanon, Anos Voldigoad, and the Great Spirit Reno to end the conflict. The Goddess of Creation has enough power and authority to maintain the natural order of the world and appeared to have a soft spot for Anos, although friendship is the official definition of their relationship.

Aganzon, The Mad God

  • Dominion: Wherever Graham of Gigerica takes him.

The potent God of Frenzy has the power to distort every element of reality (magic and divine beings included). However, he prefers to maintain the balance of the Universe than cause too much chaos.

Aganzon mainly made his presence known during the Mythical Age, before being defeated by the Misfit, Graham, and subsequently transformed into a divine weapon called the Disorder Falsification Divine Scythe Befenguzdogma. Those lucky enough to wield this omnipotent Scythe will find themselves suddenly able to achieve the impossible, as Aganzon's control over the order of falsification warps the scenario towards a beneficial outcome.

The Optimistic Futuristic Nafta

  • Dominion: The Domain of Nafta in The Azure Sky of the Gods

One could easily become overwhelmed with despair if one had unlimited access to evaluating the Future. Nevertheless, Nafta somehow manages to keep her spirits high (for the most part), despite the torturous landscape in which she resides. The Goddess of Future rules over a crystalline landscape that encompasses the worst possible forthcoming events, which also doubles as an agonizing prison for deserving offenders.

More often than not, Nafta can be found in isolation, fighting off the clutches of depression as she clings to the concept of hope. It is said that this blue-haired deity has the ability to hand-pick whichever Future she desires, but to specifically eliminate one possible outcome would doom them all.

The Almighty Eques

  • Dominion: Chief God of Militia World

The God of Gears prefers to spend his days in a formless body, becoming a light source instead and possesses a conceited personality similar to that of Ego (from Guardians of the Galaxy), essentially considering himself to be the center of the Universe. For many years, Eques fulfilled the role of the voice of reason, advising others as a conscience of sorts, although, one with a particularly sadistic side.

With his precious Gear of Fate, Eques can influence the destiny of whole worlds at a time, solidifying the occupants' futures according to his desires. He is essentially made up of multiple Gods and has access to all of their unique powers and can also create all-new overpowered entities, which subsequently become his puppets. The King of the Gods has a certain disdain for Misfits, who disrupt the natural balance of life, while Anos is an especially grating thorn in his side.

The Mother Of Creation, Elenesia

  • Dominion: Elenesia World (originally)

Elenesia contributed significantly to the creation of the Syrica (along with Celis), the spell that essentially keeps the entire Misfit of Demon King Academy plot from falling apart, as reincarnation would be quite problematic without it! She was present for the first transmigration of the soul and then remained in her Bubble World until its final moments, fulfilling her purpose as the Goddess of Creation by using Lunar Eclipse of Genesis to birth a child (in this case, two), like a phoenix from the ashes of destruction.

According to Lore, Creation Gods inevitably face their demise along with their world and the birth of their offspring. However, Elenesia managed to "reincarnate" (via Fire Dew absorption) and now resides as the new Goddess of Creation of Magic Bullet World.

The Disastrous Yzak

The Misfit of the Demon King Academy Strongest Gods Yzak God of Disaster, the Disaster Abyss World Evezeino
The Disaster Abyss World Evezeino
  • Dominion: Chief God and Sovereign of the Disaster Abyss World Evezeino

This eccentric entity is ruled by passion and relies on his heart when it comes to decision-making, often opting for an unorthodox solution. As a result, Yzak is considered to be rather unstable, often referred to as an unhinged wild card, particularly when he has that maniacal grin plastered to his face!

As one of the Inviolable Waters of the Silver Water Holy Sea, Yzak has a limitless well of power to draw from and has a pretty cool safeguard set up to maintain his longevity. If either Evezeino or Yzak's Source is under threat, the God of Disaster can cause time to come to a standstill, instantaneously avoiding the danger. These powers are ineffective if others are in jeopardy, and cannot influence the past. Furthermore, Yzak has a rather icy touch in general, capable of freezing a foe entirely with a simple caress.
